Should I upgrade to a 7D for action photography or save my pennies for a 5D Mk II? I know that the 7D has a crop sensor and is not full frame whereas the 5D2 is BUT the 7D snaps more pictures in burst mode versus the 5D

I was looking at the video review comparison of the two on DigitalRev and they mentioned that 1.) the 7D was an upgrade from the 5D2 and they are two beasts made for different types of photography

thanks for any advice. I'll be shooting with prime lenses for the most part

A 7D now? No way, 7D MK II maybe. Don't rule out the 6D either.

Even used I wouldn't buy a 7D. 70D over that to be honest. Should be able to find a used 6D.

70D for video in your budget. The 6d is not good for video. Has lame focus system and bad aliasing and moire. 70d is geared toward video.

5D2 isn't all that hot in terms of AF, I wouldn't go that way for action photography.

I use my 7D over my 5d3 for action photography. Fuck a 5d2.

I want a 7d2 but can't justify it with as little as I shoot \:\( .

I think you'll like it, the sensor is basically the same as my Pentax K-30 and it's great.
