This whole rental of water tank scam needs to fucking stop. My am I suppose to be shackled by this "commitment"?
So heated right now with this bullshit. Pretty much forced to pay almost 50$ for 120 months or buy this "energy saving" shot for 2800$.
Should be included in the price of the house with warranty.

Contract is laid out like this.
Buy out is 2800+ hst
Rental term is 120 months, buy out at any time at 44$ tax in ann every year rental prices goes up 2.5%
I'm going to talk to a lawyer and see if my purchase agreement states that I MUST assume rental of the tank. Fucking 3200$ tank, unbelievable

Yeah mine is at $20 or so, not exactly in a rush to get rid of the rental...but if it was $50, fuck that noise.

I bought my 50 Gallon tank in 2012 from Lowes. Best decision evAr Based on the current rental rate, in less than 4.5 years, the tank will pays for itself. but what happens if it needs repairs?

Should be included in the price of the house with warranty. You got suckered and there is nothing you can do (Welcome to the club, my fee is $16/month ). There is no one to blame, but your lawyer. I don't know if your lawyer walked you through your entire purchase agreement, but mine basically made me initial the pages without explaining anything because he is a piece of shit scumbag. By you signing the page (check your legal docs) you've assumed liability and you are stating that you understand the contract and you've read it (I bet you didn't, like most people...good luck proving that). Thank you very much for assuming over the contract, boom winky now you are fucked. I wish i could tell you there was a scam to get out of it, after extensive searching and talking to people there isn't much you can do as the laws changed in 2010 where you can't cancel these contracts. In addition, if you were to take this up with the lawyer you will be burning a bridge (he threatened to call the cops on me if I didn't leave his office). Yes I was a little bit pissed when that POS blindly made me sign shit that I thought was standard practice (having never bought a house) and then he proceeded to deny that in my face when I called him out on it. I still debate arson on his home Funny enough I was with another real estate lawyer today for another matter and I swear these people are the most incompetent morons, is real estate law a notch above a legal secretary? Where is the real benzo to chime in?
Really? Absolutely no way at all to get out of a water tank contract??

Risky - this is my second home. LOLer didn't say shit but I tried to take that clause out and builder said NO ( they get a kick back for sure these scum). I knew this rental shit is in every fuckkng purchase agreement nowdays. And if you don't like it, then move on I was told.
Long story short fuck paying them. 3200 down the drain, fuck renting. Btw I calculated and it would cost 6100$ after 10 years AND you don't own the tank.
C2K - no way out. Part of your agreement purchase documents.

Your bill wouldn't be fully paid so eventually you would probably get warnings , maybe even have gas shut off to house and the outstanding shit sent to collections /wreak havoc on your credit.
What euphoric said but they will get you before that. I read on RFD someone tried to not sign up, so when it came time for lawyer paperwork and keys, the funds wouldn't clear because of lien on the property lol

I am sooooo glad we got out of our ripoff contract. It was $30 a month and it was 19 years old when it popped. We did not have to pay any cancelation fees. They wanted their toasted tank back. I waited around all day and nobody showed. I called them up, said its on the porch, if it's not picked up tommorow I'll move it to the curb then you can race the scrap guys for it.m they where no very happy about that and said if they don't pick it I would have to pay full price to replace it. They came the next morning and picked it up. I bought the biggest one at Home Depot and installed with the help of my brother (plumber) and friend ( gas fitter apprentice). It was cheap enought that if it lasts only 5 years I still come out ahead lol

Sure, buy out the tank from the rental company. You'll pay through the nose, but it's pretty much the only way.

I forgot if it came with 10 years warranty or not. I may have bought the extended warranty with the purchase, need to dig out the paperwork. But breh the $40+HST a month rental fee is bullshit

old thread revival
So on the first gas bill, the rental fee was the same as the prev. owner was paying.. 11 bucks a month. Great diu right?
I look at the second bill and it doubled to 20 bucks. Still a good price compared to 50, but now makes me really want to consider buying.
Anyone dealt with this shit? I don't even know what the terms of the contract are.. can I call them up and tell them to produce the agreement?
Is there such thing as month-to-month without a contract?
Anyone other than zc deal with actually going through the return/drop-off process?
It's "only" 20 bucks but I'm fuckn pissed.
