With the cost to borrow being reduced, what is the rationale behind renting?
Though I do get that renting at a low cost makes sense if you are aiming for something specific later on!

This only works if rates never go up. Further this primarily benefits people living beyond their means or closer to. Just because money's cheap doesn't mean you should take it.

I'm done with buying short term in this hell hole of a city. I don't have long term plans to stay in the same place and if I rented it afterwards I'd be upside down 850/month with 20% down.

that's what a lot of people forget.. If I bought a house 10+ years ago, my mortgage is significantly smaller than someone who's entering the market right now.
