what are some of you using? I need something that is easily collapsible and not to much of a pair for gigs when I am on the move

I saw one in a digital rev video that gets very low to the ground that I like but the name/brand wasn't mentioned

I have a Manfrotto 190XProB. It's entry level but just fine so far for what I need it to do. Biggest lens I have is the 100-400 and it supports that and my gripped 6D just fine on either my ballhead or gimble mount.

You may want something more rugged since you're on rough terrain rather frequently.

I got some cheap Sunpak CF legs for backpacking and Manfrotto AL legs for when weight isn't a concern, Kirk ball head in either case.

Not exactly lightweight or travel friendly but it is definitely sturdy

after being a bit of a snob w/ gitzos, i'm looking to pick up another manfrotto one. the thing i like about them is that when you unclip the leg, it slides down on its own w/o needing to pull it out. makes it really quick to adjust. i like their new bowl ones, specifically the 755cx3, which is on rebate right now.

Previous model of this: http://www.manfrotto.us/055-carbon-fiber-tripod-3-section

I like it. Stupid light weight, easy to carry, fast and easy to deploy.

thanks

unfortunately i got a free one before christmas (and the gf dropped it when bringing it in the house and the box wasn't fully closed destroying the quick release plate on the head)

she got me a cheaper one for christmas but this thing can only hold 2lbs

i'm looking for a new ballhead for the manifrotto that she broke right now or debating just picking up one of the ones from best buy for about 95-110
