^why no consideration for the bog standard wrx? that motor is arguably better than the ej25. power delivery makes much more sense for street use! unless the rs/r/r/sti is being bought for track use, i'm not certain that there are clear advantages over the more standard offering.
If you just want power, any turbo car can be made to put down some serious power. even the gti is getting retarded dyno #s (even without a tune!) time tickling bomb.
i think you meant "ticking time bomb"
and yes, the stock map on the sti (and i think even base turbo wrx) is craaaap

Wow EJ25 issues. Pls do tell. I am curious now XD I know they suck in terms of heat management -- it only running something silly like 5 qts of oil doesn't help. But what's this about the internals?

"Honda has also admitted an even more extreme version of the Civic Type R isn’t an impossible dream. “The Type R is already a very special, extreme version. We have been pursuing the ultimate performance,” he said. “But of course technically everything is possible, depending on customer demand. also, one of the guys here talked to R&D in Ohio re. new NSX...they basically say "you haven't seen nothing yet" lol...

The price is a huge deciding factor. The Civic Si sedan is selling for $26,850 MRSP, Golf R approx $39,995 MRSP, No price yet for Focus RS, but ST is selling for $28,499 MRSP. Gosh, I wonder how much the CTR will sell for IF Honda decides to shit on the pot and sell to NA.
