Just measured 10km from the Pickering reactor, it goes all the way to Morningside in Scarborough.
Oh Risky, its only 16 km to your house

Interesting that you mentioned the 10km radius reaches Morningside. While the article states that the pills are to protect the thyroid gland, both my mom in law and sis in law had to have their thyroid glands removed due to problems as wifey's side of the family lived in that area since mid 90s (Morningside and Ellesmere).
Wifey moved out (we got married) in 2005 but MIL and SIL continued to stay there until 2007 -- they were working in hickering for a few years too (so they are always in and out of the area).
Dad in law lives 1/2 the time in HK so the "exposure" may not be as much (as well, wifey is only at home after work, so not as to be in the area 24/7).
Kinda makes me wonder if there's already "some" leak that's giving people problems (albeit more sensitive / weaker thyroids?)
