two pr's today... bench pressed 250lbs
Hmm.. I did 8 reps of 245 last monday and it felt kinda easily. you look a good amount bigger than me.. I would have pegged you for putting up like 315
Squated 335lbs for 10 reps.
Very Impress.

I blame crossfit, 3 years of 0 benching. I can easily put 270lbs over my head from the ground... but laying on my back, whole different story.

ib4 faggot shut the fuck up you have tits omg I dunk basketballs and won the homecomming game....
So a few months back, I think it was May I was around 183, this was as lean as I got before I started to plateau in the gym.
We've seen this multiple times... I've signed up with a coach to handle my nutrition and programming for 15 weeks and it will go beyond that. Really focusing on base building and really getting my strength up through RPE and a whole bunch of fancy terms I don't really know.
You may know, auto-regulation.
So I bench twice a week, Squat twice a week, and deadlift twice a week. The second lift variation is always a paused movement.
I also am doing 0 cardio right now, the focus of nutrition is to raise my BMR, gaintain so maintain a 198-205ish weight so when I go to cut for a meet it's not a drastic 30-40lb cut to get to whatever weightclass.
You'll probably skip all this shit, I'm making it too complicated, I'm fat and should eat 1300 calories, tilapia, brocolli, and kale juice for pumps and vascularity building.
This was taken this morning, I'm averaging around 204lbs, I was sitting at 200 but ever since a beer pong weekend for 4th of july I've been struggling to shake off that beer weight so we cut some carbs until I even out. And most likely will kick it back up once I'm down to 200.
I'm not physically happy about the weight, I know it has it's purpose for the weight I want to move. I have about 7 more weeks on this training cycle and then I test maxes.
I think 415-420lbs or maybe even more on squats about 500 or slightly more on deadlifts and I'm hoping for 265-270lbs on bench.
bench press * deadlifts : http://youtu.be/CFaY2xuesDA overhead press * squats : http://youtu.be/aJOHHEvXRQk
I'm currently walking the walk, putting up a picket fence, eating broccoli, and carrots, feel strong, kale in my blood.

In a caloric surplus, no yolo macros, still following a guideline to keep me at a base weight.
And I lift weights to get stronger, not to look like an underwear model. As long as everything continues to progress forward things will come full circle in the end.

Are you still doing the body scan thing?
I haven't been in a while, I should've got one before I started to monitor muscle mass gain.

DEXA scans are so $$$$$$$$ though.
The inbody scans are only 25 bucks a pop for a re-test.

I don't think you need to get fat to get stronger. More to the point, I don't think getting fat is worth it our makes a big enough difference.
Also your canned underwear model line stinks. Rethink that position. I don't to be a model either but I certainly don't want to be fat

Then.......why take pictures in your underwear instead of just tabulating the results you care about?

At least it's clear what your goals are now... increasing your numbers and going the powerlifting route, that's all great.
Just own it, stop the road to 10 percent nonsense and passive aggressive kale/chicken BS.

It's for my coach to determine changes to my food based on how slothy I look.

Also your canned underwear model line stinks Also he takes post pump black and white pictures because he doesn't care what he looks like.
Post pump? the pump I get every morning & 5am after taking a piss? I take them in black and white due to inconsistent lighting in my bathroom.

I just think you overthink this stuff and yoyo around trying to find magic formulas and coaches. It seems crazy to me to do that to bench 250 and squat 400lbs.
I'm sure this sounds negative but it isn't meant to be. I'm on your side hoss. I want you to be awesomesauce and 183 you is almost full rico suave.

I feel a lot of people underthink stuff, and rely on broscience and genetics to get them through their goals. Nobody just ups and does powerlifting, it requires a specific approach and no two individuals are the same.
It seems crazy to me to do that to bench 250 and squat 400lbs. How is that crazy to anyone? I've never had a strong bench, it would be crazy to me if Art could also squat 400lbs to depth with his incredible bench or deadlift more than 450lbs. Same goes for anyone else who says they put up any particular numbers and has no physical proof of such.
I've tried basic base building for bench, stupid accessories, and I've come to the realization through trial and error that the only way to bench more is to BENCH MORE. I currently am benching twice a week now, tons of volume all auto regulated some days it's more, some days it's less but still same reps and sets. Close Grip, all Paused as if I was at a competition.
It's inching it's way up to 300 finally, but I have a long way to go. I also have a slight rotator cuff issue with my left shoulder, it likes to come out of the socket at a particular angle.. and that's the horizontal bench angle. LOL
EXAMPLE
I'm sure this sounds negative but it isn't meant to be. I'm on your side hoss. I want you to be awesomesauce and 183 you is almost full rico suave.
And I hate to sound defensive, everyone is very dismissive like they're walking greek gods, nobody is talking about their downtime, but they sure are talking and posting a lot when it's chisel season.
I've advised my coach that I have no desire to compete at 198, which is why I'm being captive at this weight, so we will begin a taper to move it back down to 181.
That's really all I'm going to post about rico suaveness, road to 10 percent is the name of the blog and it's still a goal, just not what my focus is currently.

Broscientist in the house! I don't lift for competitions or employ a powerlifter type mentality when I lift. I guess we all have different thoughts and goals.
I don't list my max lifts anymore either, it's been too long since I've even attempted a true 1rm in the big 3.
