Not that ISO means jack on any digital camera but that's really optimistic for an AP-S. lol

If it can match ISO 3200 on a 5D2 I'll eat this keyboard. Shutter speed is almost as good as an iPhone but it's better than nothing if all you shoot is wildlife and sports from a great distance I suppose.

I don't know what Canon's rule of thumb is, but for my Nikons, I look at max ISO, knock off 2 stops and find that I can shoot comfortably without excessive noise up to that point. I still shoot over that, but I know what I'm getting into at that point.

Lol 20MP... This is why I left canon. Nikons crops are 27... 27!!!! Canon doesn't even make a full frame with that many MP's.

I know MP's aren't a selling point for everyone, but you're basically saying fuck you to everyone who shoots landscape.

It's clearly an action oriented camera. And honestly, I can't think of an action oriented (mainstream) camera that can compete with it - on paper at least it pisses all over the D7100.

That doesn't always work. Stitching a long exposure. Stitching things that move. Just really pathetic to be honest that canon can't seem to get over 23MP's.

Re: Scott.

I get that. Canon seems to be geared more towards the action shooter. From their bodies to their extensive line of super zooms. Nikon doesn't really compete there. Any kind of action event is like a white L lens porn convention.

this, for me, since Canon isn't for me.

However, it sounds pretty impressive for those who want the action speeds and don't have lights. Nikon definitely doesn't have something to compete with it since they're too busy making more D3xxx cameras to care much about that middle segment.

I'm not getting the hate for the 20mp sensor (and I've seen it elsewhere too). I'm going to guess that being a generation or three newer tech over the outgoing 18mp 7D that the new version will wipe the floor with it.

Mostly this, but it is nice to see a new APS-C camera occasionally.

I wish the 750 had been released with a burst rate similar to the 7d2...then I'd have ordered one. But since it didn't, I ordered a pair of 910's. Almost bought a refurbished d4 over labor day weekend. it was down to $3500! If I sold the d700, I'd be at about the cost of a 750 with grip. ah well. someone told me to just shoot with the cameras i have. PFffft. yeah right.

Canon's rule of thumb is to make up an ISO number higher than the last model. Over promise / under deliver. It's a good sensor, I'm sure. The specs are just laughable unless you are just getting into photography and actually expect it to perform as advertised. FF numbers are better but there should be a better standard measure of light sensitivity. At least advertise the 35mm equivalent like they do with focal length.

The AF seems to be the big difference. That 7dii's AF is craycray

And I just read it autofocuses down to -3 with the center point. ballin.

EDIT: not that it matters to me, I'm not buying one and both of my current cameras look like this:

Yeah, I read some of that earlier. That is badass! Should be a great camera. Especially for sports.

Yeah. Although I'm with some of the earlier comments, in that I'm curious to see how it does with higher ISOs. Freaking crop bodies.

Great time to pick up a 7dmk1 in the next few months, but I gotta stay focused on trying to upgrade my full frame a smidge.

full frame >>> crop in general. But APS-C has its uses and it's nice to see Canon recognize that and provide a pro level crop body. Nikon has abandoned that niche, though I guess you can still shoot in DX mode on its full frame cameras (16mp in the D810).

The 7d2 is probably going to be perfect for me. A few FPS faster than my 7d, better AF, ISO if better than 7D is cool, don't really give a fuck though, dual cards is going to be awesome. I love my 7d and my 5d3, but for sports and stuff I prefer my 7d greatly over the 5d3.

I'll probably pick one up next year sometime.
