the tsx is in for some warranty work, i was getting a vibration under acceleration, so while they were finding out the problem they ran out of loaners. Acura rented me a bmw X1, horrible car imo, glad i never bought one.

took my car back while they waited on parts, parts came in, dropped off the car and arranged another loaner. i was expecting a ILX, but instead they gave me a flippin MDX. brand new, only 500kms on it, nav, the works. this thing is ballin. crazy comfortable, has all the toys, and it's big as hell. but for $80k? yea don't know if it's worth that.

inside is really nice, it fit my mom, my aunt, my sister in law, and my nephew in his rear facing car seat no problem; without the 3rd row. the GPS is worthless tho.

like i said it was big. i took it to pick up my mom and aunt from st.mikes downtown, didn't do too bad on downtown streets. compared it to the ridgeline:

i am not an SUV kinda guy, but after driving this thing, i could get used to it.anyone looking into getting a minivan, look into a used one of these.

pointless thread is pointless.

THe MDX (current and previous gens) are such uber fails. They look great, but have less utility than the competition and waste more gas while having less towing capacity AND take premium. Fak that SUV.

Wow, 80K. Didn't think they got that high.

Edit, shows as 66k http://www.acura.ca/mdx#!/en/ON/mdx/2015/elite_10104/customize

i don't know what the pricing difference is, but if you want the cheaper end of a luxury 7 seater suv, that never tows anything, isn't the fastest, but still decently nice then the mdx is good.

and actually for something of that size im getting 13lts/100km. and i've been beating the piss out of it. $60 of the cheapest gas gave me 3/4th of a tank.

edit: dey be lying. the person working there said it was "a $80k truck"...i know its the tech package but not the elite.

its decent for what it is. plenty of room, bed is big enough to handle his small landscaping side bidnezz. inside...it's a truck, nothing to write home about, and the gps is dated. however it can still tow his jet ski all day or a small boat i'm guessing. it's FWD mostly unless you lock all 4 or something like that but it's a good light duty truck if you have a family.

Come on you can't tell me the headlights look good and that fucking interior is a god damn joke for $80k

Acura needs to just fucking DIAF already. The TLX is a complete fucking let down, looks like the accord with ricer parts. Fuck Honda. They died a decade ago in my books.

^I'm with the guy who can do nothing else but hate XD

80k is staggering for that thing (as is 103k for a x5!). But herein lies the difference: The 103k X5 looks and feels like a 65k car. The 80k mdx looks and feels like a 40k car. With the bmw, you are "only" getting ripped off by about 35%. Meanwhile, the freaking acura is ripping you off double! That shit cray XD

Who'd buy one of those at 80k! No wonder you don't see any of them on the road XD (but wait, does that mean ppl actually pay over 100k for an x5 too! ZOMG)

now that can be argued.

bmw:

acura:

some pics i see the bmw has a leg up with the dash wrapped in leather, which the acura does not, however the acura has the two screens instead of the one and the X5 still has that awful looking 3 series radio.

oh and real talk, the MDX is $66,xxx the X5 is: $86,300

The dual screen IMO is pointless. It's like hey we heard you like screens so we gave you 2! One being high res and the second one that would belong in a car built in the early 2000's.

FYI, the "radio" is really just there for the CD/DVD and the programmable touch keys. Everything is controlled via idrive. So yes I guess you could say it is out of the 3 series LOL.

The centre stack in the MDX is not nice looking at all with that V pattern and wtf is up with the armrest? Do they have gorillas driving their cars?

Honda has never been known for their interiors and they continue that trend till this day.

uh i'm sorry, but the mdx interior looks like a rental car XD
i'm sure it's nice in person, since the materials are nice and you can really explore the fit and finish. but imo, the way it *looks* is not fantastic. Especially with those sideways vents--reminds me of Hyundai. All their cars are like that now XD

As for the X5, it has a nice interior for a modern bmw. Though IMO, you either like the new BMW interiors or you dont. I do not.

no suv interior really does it for me though. it seems unproportional. The dashes are always thicker, center consoles wider. The steering wheel and everything else doesn't proportionally fit as nice as it otherwise would in a standard car.

i'll take this interior doe XD

umm mdx's dont run 80k, nto sure where folks are buying their cars? looolz.

i've driven every one since 2010 and they have improved a lot, i like the new one and it drive amazing, even vs. zeeGerman cars. risky has a point about gas doe =\ i nvr get good mileage lol, but otherwise it's a great truck. too bad acura can't get their cars selling as well lol.

x1 and x3 drive like fuckin shit, sorry to say but it's true. the benz is eve better. x5 i can't say, never been but i assume it's better than its smaller counterparts. but i find any SUV overkill anyways.

Maybe it was because we were jumping from a 2nd gen rav4 to the x3 but I find it drives pretty nice.

It turns well (better [less floaty] than Q5) and omg torque. Lol. (again, from a 2001 rav4) and has been solid so far (only had to recharge the A/C refrigerant - 82k to date).

Curious about the current gen x3. But it needs the m package bumper to look nice.

I wish they kept the NA motor. Don't feel like paying extra in changing plugs and injectors at 80k.
