“This is a spontaneous phenomenon," Josefin Thorell, a spokeswoman for the Swedish furniture retailer, told the Wall Street Journal. "Some customers who enter the Chinese stores sleep in the bed. Ikea in China does nothing to prevent nor anything to attract sleepers. But we don’t see it as a problem, we’re happy people feel at home in our stores."

You can take the mainlander out of the mainland, but you can't take the mainland out of the mainlander.
I am ashamed to look like those fuckers.

Not sure if they know or just don't give a shit (pun semi-intended) -- but their classless behaviour is becoming a big problem as they tour in HK - ever since '97 when they are allowed to come down to HK to visit.
Even in Vancouver, they are a problem -- see link: http://o.canada.com/life/richmond-mall-peeing.
As much as the big cities are booming - a lot of places still aren't up to snuff w/ basic infrastructure; so people just do as.
It's also the "i don't give a flying fuck", "i do what i feel like" attitude - that makes Chinese look bad.
Money can't buy class.

I seriously hate getting grouped with them. I haven't seen them pull that shit here, but even basic stuff like their lack of common courtsey and manners is irritating.
to be fair....this is happening in mainland china so it's par for the course.
i too am chinese, but going as far as to say that i'm ashamed it's a bit of a stretch lol
i just wish i could appreciate ikea furniture as much as my fellow comrades. ikea furniture is just walmart grade shit with nicer colours and funky names.
