You should edit it based on how you wanted to shoot it. /typical answer
Generally, I'll edit it to achieve a certain look that I had in my mind. But I will also keep the original just in case.

My idea of "right" used to change every 6 months.
This, and still does for me. An image is done when it's done.

I wouldn't worry too much about them... GF has them on lockdown, probably in her purse, which based on how she loses things in it, is a safer place than a nuclear bunker.
