Hagerty is what 6 a year? You are better off getting tdmm for 6 months for same price and not have restrictions. Fire and theft is useless your house insurance will cover any damage to the car

I don't remember your TDMM numbers off the top of my head, but for the "car guys" here I am surprised you all sign up for this useless coverage that allows you to drive your car 3 times a year when the stars align.
TDMM for full coverage on the M3 is ~120/month or so, can't recall and my rates have changed recently as everything went down. My number is conservative at $120 so that's $720/year for 6 months and you can go drive your car without worrying that coverage may be void because 3 of 1209381203812903 million stars didn't align as per Hagerty's policy appendix star alignment in summer pertaining to using your summer car for anything more than a garage ornament...omg YOU ARE DRIVING IT?????. Just saying. Fuck that shit, pay $100-$200 more a year and enjoy your car

Meh it works for me, the agreed value is important for the Lanica. They also have stuff like glass coverage which is also important to me, try finding any piece of glass for the lancia on this continent lol. Also I dunno how you are getting cheap prices like that. I may call TD for the mustang on Monday as that I wouldn't mind driving more in the summer, I don't care about any of the agreed value stuff as much with that car. I did call for the ITR and they wanted $160 a month. I don't think home insurance will cover a stolen or burned car in your garage?

My numbers are more(120 is not conservative for most ). And interesting point since you're flip flopping over $65/month for 4 months. Plus my renters insurance will not cover a car in the garage. You have confirmation yours will? I've never heard of that. I drive and enjoy my car when I want. Just not to work anymore.
It depends on what insurance plan you have.
You don't need to have fire/theft on a car that sits inside your garage because it's covered under the contents part of your home policy. This is honestly a moot point, none of us are keeping 1M+ veyrons in our garages. A 10k M3 is fuck all and yes it will be covered under the TDMM home policy. The only thing they ask for is if you have auto insurance on it as that's supposed to be the primary when recovering damages, if you don't, it just falls under home and they pay out of that. At the end of the day all this shit is irrelevant as the chances of making a claim while your car is at home in the garage will most likely not happen in your life time so you are just pissing money away.
Whatever, everyone has a different situation, just saying Hagerty is a rip off in a sense due to restrictions and the price. If they charged $300, ok i get it, they charge the same was what a normal ins company would charge for pro rated 6 months.

An interesting case is going on right now between some people I know. One guy's uninsured car sat in his driveway and was damaged by flying debris from his neighbour's yard during a wind storm. The car owner's home insurance wouldn't cover it, and the debris owner's home insurance wouldn't cover it either.
It's likely going to small claims court ($3k damage to the car).
umm, sounds like dude shoulda had car insurance on his car, case closed. there is no such thing as 'act of God' in insurance, so it was a windstorm...simple as that, shitty luck the wind picked up whatever from the neighbours house and it hit his car, the neighbour can't control the wind and didn't make it happen. ( i could see maybe if it was something left our recklessly then maybe...but up to the judge i guess).
as guys mentioned above about TDMM, im with them still and get a decent discounted corp. rate and 1st accident forgiveness for almost nothing. no other company has matched except RBC (only because i have home ins. with them)

If haggerty sucks, why not zerhs or any of the other alternatives? I insured my 240z for 150 a year. Full coverage. No restrictions like Haggerty except for cannot be used for driving to work and average 5k km per year over 5 years.
IIRC any car appraised at below 14k will be 150 a year with zerhs.

This is interesting since I will be storing the M for winter as well. I've already inquired about just fire and theft and my insurance is fine with that.
who are you with?

TDMM is unbeatable for me, I pay about $7x.xx/car for liability only, full coverage is about $11x.xx/car ($30 difference or so).
The only other company that comes relatively close to TDMM is Johnsons and if you bundle, their home insurance is better than TD's in terms of replacement policy, cost is also slightly cheaper.

TDMM
$83.xx/liability only acura EL. The legacy was cheaper to insure Accident forgiveness & GF has a minor ticket.
Where we really save is on the house insurance based upon the thread I made last year

so who's everyone insuring their DDs with? all this talk of rare, weekend cars are great, but i have one, modern car that i drive to wokr everyday lol.
SharpSpoon...please tell me more about your insurance! I bet my insurance is still pretty high compared to others but it was the best I found. TDMM I always had good luck with but have recently found Aviva to be cheaper. Civic Si plus M5 postal = shitty rate
Try have a L postal code in Brampton. It's fucking retarded.
I miss living in Mississauga, 35% cheaper for same car, driving record
