You gotta go 19" for an e9x, 18" just doesn't work that well.

They're VMR VB3 csl reps in proper M3 offset. Definitely not available at canadian tire but to each their own. I've still not made up my mind so I'll rock these until I do.
I am just busting your balls bruh. It would be a shame to have such a nice and expensive car and then cheap out on wheels that's my point. The wheels you have now regardless of brand are just generic run of the mill boring wheels (IMO anyway). I'd rather roll te stock 19s over those, these are a downgrade.

Got to agree. Besides the optionally 19's are forged too and they come up often for sale. If I were to upgrade to larger wheels I would buy a set of the factory 19's since they are great bang for the buck.

^ever since you commented on the difference between the 18s and 19s for the e9x m3, I started to pay attention. I have to say the 18s look better. They are not barftastic 2 tone (with machined face and black everywhere else...that is mega ghetto), and the curvature of how the 18s concave inward really suit the lines of the car. If only the 18s in the exact style and color came in a 19 inch size...

This is a very subjective topic, there is form, there is function, there is preference, etc....but for the most part certain cars work best with a specific diameter wheel.
let's do a simple example.
EG, best suited with a 15" wheel imo even though 16" can look good I think a proper 15" is best:
Case in point:
Let's talk EK, most people go with 17", sure they work, but the body and car is best suited for 16". Here is Civic Dude's SIR with 15" rotas, simply don't work on the car, looks like shit imo (there aren't his wheels he was just trying them on at a meet)
EBP Si on regas in 16" MUCH MUCH better.
Moving on to M3's...big argument with e36 m3's is that 17's are perfect. This is a car where both 17 and 18 inch wheels work, i prefer how 18" fill out the wheel well but sure i'd love 17" for the cheaper tires...this car can go both ways:
Here are the bigger diameter options, which look amazing. I am torn between 17 and 18 but again, the bigger wheels tends to win IMO:
See the pattern here, the bigger wheel generally works as long as it's not something completely stupid.
Going back to the e9x...same shit the 18" wheel stock that's the equivalent of the E36 with a 17" or an EK with 15" or an EG with a 13" steelie. It's not OPTIMAL, matter of opinion or not, the e9x looks best with a 19" imo. I suppose people may not pay as much attention to detail as I do, but filling out the wheel well is pretty damn important for a nice look. I roll 18" on my e36 and I wouldn't have it other way. I've considered 17" square setup but that's only because of cheaper tire cost and ability to rotate the tires, not for looks.
Here is an e92 withm3 18" stock wheels. This to me is the equivalent of an EG on steelies, I'd throw them out or make them into winter wheels. They don't work with the car, it's like they are an afterthought and the BMW is known for putting shitty wheels on early year cars of any new gen that they release. Tell me these look better than 19" lol nope.gif
Even these stock ones look good, better than above:
So in the end, if someone is dropping $40k+ on one of the nicest cars you can buy in that price range and the last of the N/A M3's I simply can't comprehend how you can put on afterthought wheels or compromise on shit like this when they make the car. Whatever, just my two cents.

the optional 19's are gross, can't believe ppl actually paid more for that shit.
I'm not a fan of polished spokes. Only polish I ever want to see on a wheel is the lip.
WTF!!!!!!!!!! What do you mean to say XD

The reality is that in a perfect world, if one can truly afford an m3, then one can deal with the consumables. You got mega gas burning, more oil capacity, more weight (tires, brakes, wheel bearings, tie rods, ball joints, bushings all fail sooner) etc.
So with that in mind, I'm with you on the type r. You can beat on it and know that it is not costing you a lot of wallet pain. Though driving a v8 beast around a track, you enjoy every penny spent
