lol oh man dont get me started on that shit (seeing it from both customer side and on the auto industry side at work ) - the automakers are JUST as frustrated with this tpms shit as the general public lol. can't tell you how many sets of these fuckin things (from various vehicles) i've sent back to suppliers.

there are two types of TPMS systems in the market now, and each car from each brand can have either or right now (because it's transitioning to the newer system now for model makes/models). it's such a rip how dlr's make cash of 'clearing' the tpms light everytime you swap tires...but most folks dont know they can just drive with the tpms light on . most of them are like ERMEHGERD dash light is on my eng gonna blow must clear it .

anyways, the device mentioned above to do it yourself will reset your tpms most of the time, but it wont work on ALL tpms units, whihc sucks (i guess return it if it doesnt work on your make/model car lol). i know for honda, their models are mixed for the tpms type...most next gen models will get the newer system whihc is better.

Going forward I'll never buy steelies again .. They just rust: the sanding + (quick spray) painting isn't worth the hassle - I'd rather buy semi-shit looking alloys and call it a day ... the extra $50-75 per wheel works out in the long run ... (Even Costco is selling shit 16-17" alloys for winter rims)

On the Ody, I know that you can't disable traction control if your TPMS light is on. Such a pain.

I couldn't care less about how steelies look. I'd rather save myself $300.

If you don't store your sh!t properly, what do you expect?

Steelies are fine, been working for decades for millions of people.

I do quick spot sanding/spraying ... Still adds up to about an hour for 4 steelies, but it's the moving them up/down the stairs that's a bitch, followed by the fact I gotta pressure-wash them prior...

pressure wash? /asian troll face.

moving them up and down stairs has to be done regardless of steelies or alloys.

you can hit all 4 steelies with black tremclad in like 1 minute. no need to sand, prep whatever. just spray it. were talking winter steel wheels not some 20's you show off down at the local ihop.

You drive a pos car thats falling apart anyways. So why all the care for some winter steel wheels? makes no sense.

Don't run hubcaps on your steelies, all it does is hold in all that sand and salt and they rust like crazy.

I really don't care what my steelies look like.

Agreed.
I'm der confuseded. Steelies rusting? Not a big deal imo.
Not worth the $100+ in up charge for alloys to me. I can live with the rust \:\)

And hey, cover up that rust with them hello kitty stickers! Mad pimpin!

Lulz. I was....but then I painted my Civic to look like a Gen Coupe so I don't have to worry about it anymore.

EDIT: Wow that was in 2011?! Oh how time flies.

They do look pretty far back but they are pretty vertical. The headrest and top of the seat angles back so maybe that's why it looks like that.

not a cel but generally there will be another light for the monitors..like a tire with an exclamation mark.

most cars will have that light on and maybe a bong on start up. hardly a big deal at all. not worth bending over backwards and dropping significant money just so that light is off for the winter.

it was hard enough tryin to find those white 15" usdm's above for my car! shit cray if u want clean ones. gunmetals also getting rare...pretty much it's easier to get the jdm 16's (had those before) than our 15's lol. mine are ukdm though i think.

^i was just a bit too late and missed a hellova deal, USDM ITRs with snows for $400

i hate the look of steelies, and i want the 15's because snows are cheaper. i don't care if they are garbage condition, some tremclad and i'll be rolling.

I used to rock steelies on the cars for the winter, but now its a nice/decent set of alloys/aluminums. If you`re driving a decent car (and not a beater or something you don`t enjoy getting into everyday) you might as well spend an extra couple hundred for even a nice set of reps. The way I see it you`re going to be driving on this set for 5 months of the year, might as well make it look decent.

car is going to look like garbage anyways covered in salt, dirt and grime.

I have both steels and alloys. Makes no difference. they are both round and hold a tire ;\)

I'm with him XD
No issues with steelies. Do not understand spending the extra $ for alloys (though there is nothing wrong with that!). I'd rather spend the extra $ towards better winter rubber.
