Replaced the stock clutch stop with a new one from BMS. Way better now. Fucking BMW does NOT know how to make a good manual.

Now if only I could shoehorn the s2k tranny into the M. that would be a winning combo!!!

I like the S2K's tranny

Have you try the STi's 6 speed? It's pretty good IMO

Never driven a STI. My dads 997 has a fantastic 6spd too. The only good thing about the M's tranny is the clutch. It is light and the engagement is quick.

S2K was sold a couple of years ago. He liked it at first, but grew tired of it lacking power on the low-end.

M5 is his daily except in winter. That's when he drives his TT. That's his first gen TT that he decided to keep. He did have a 2nd gen TT but didn't like it after a while lol

Dunno about STI, but on a wrx dealing with turbo inlet pipe requires removing a maze of vacuum lines or removing the intake manifold. And doing plugs on it is fun because of the clearance, no?

He is trolling, not too long ago I helped him help a friend (from here) change the suspension on a WRX, rear seats had to come out, speakers, WTF is this b.s. just to swap out suspension. PITA AND A POS. Even my M3 is 10x simpler. A hammer a chisel and the whole thing is apart.

Wait no, I did suspension on a wrx too and doing all the things you described.
That is easy peasy bc at least you have clearance to do stuff.
But having engine heads facing the sides of the car is not cooooool!!!!

BTW IIRC E90 also requires going into the back seat to do rear struts.

plugs are fine. takes longer than a b16? yes, but overall its not bad(I was expecting worse).
take off intake(4x10mm bolts and two clamps) and take out the battery.

plenty of room to reach the coils. 1 cylinder is a little awkward but its only one bolt holding on each coil.

Want to do exhaust work? super easy. its all hanging off the bottom. Alternator and power steering pump are both easily accessible in the front too.

the single weirdest thing is probably the rear struts.
