So I randomly sometimes mix up my accessories at the gym. It's not really productive, but makes it fun and allows me some "body-building".

SO last week, I added in calf raises on the leg press sled. I thought I'd build calf size and some strenght for the hills. I only did 90lbs for 12 reps.

Now I can barely walk. I've always had issues with my plantar fascia(tendon in the bottom of you foot that provides the arch structure). Well it feels likes I destroyed my right one.

SO. no squats this week, no running, I've already missed out one one hike.
Just walking more than 2 minutes sucks. I've got a trail run on Wednesday.

Ugh, I'm a damned fool. Vanity is messing with my progress/goals.

jump rope and jump squats will help build up your calves. those machines are cool to create mass, but I think they really just create cankles haha.

It's not my calves that hurt. Every single step hurts my foot.
I've dealt with plantar fasciatus before. It's a mother, it takes a while to heal, and you have to progress very slowly.

throw a small bottle of water in the freezer, and make sure to roll your foot on it.

I've been having some PF symptoms for quite a few months, but luckily they only bother me right after I get out of bed and I never ever feel it while running.

Normally recovery is 4-6 weeks until resuming running with 3-6 months till full.

Wayne, that's the plan tonigh. I've been out of town since Friday so I couldn't fit it in.

This one is much much worse than my prior running induced ones. I have made the mistake of trying to push through it before and getting worse. I'm going to take my time on this one. Getting too old to be that hardcore.

I'm kinda an expert on plantar fascia pain. I dealt with it Very bad while playing soccer in college, then teaching spin and playing league basketball.

I made a few adjustments, and it is Completely gone.

It was so bad I was unable to walk mornings before it loosened up.
