yup 7-9years. Meh $400 to keep your kid safe, and really it's about $100 a year.

Well like I said before, all car seats have to meet Canadian standards so they will all work in the event of a crash. You can go to Canadian Tire/Walmart and pick up one fairly cheap. The more expensive ones give you more options whether that be more versatile use (5 lbs-120 lbs), slim fit to have 3 in a row, more comfortable or better rear facing positions to use your front passenger seat.

Finally went out and tried some seats in the legacy and only the Diono & Foonf fit well enough to allow both front seats to be moved back all the way rear facing.

So we ordered in a Foonf. It should get here just in time for her to grow out of here Britax B-Safe carrier.

This will be the last seat I have to buy till she's 6 though, so didn't mind spending the extra money.

Edit:

fit the best in my wifes car. Despite looking huge it actually allowed the front seat to go the furthest back.
some of the other ones made the front passenger seat useless

That's exactly what we found as well.

ZC911 how do you like yours?

Love it, best part is my daughter seems to like sitting in it too!
She was never a fan of car rides until she switch to this seat. No more screaming on car rides. Best $429.99 i've ever spent lol It's really only $40-$100 more than others. Small price to pay to have a useable front seat in a smaller car.

Wife is going back to work soon so i'll probably buy another for my car. my wife will drop her off at my Mom's in the morning and i'll pick her up at night.

For parents in waiting - britax has a promo starting June 1st (vas, heads up)

If you buy a b-ready stroller you get a FREE b-ready infant car seat (200+$ value).

Check official website for details.

I debated between the b-ready and the City Select. Went with the City for better and more configurations, also didn't like that the b-ready had one kid "under" the other.

Edit: sorry this is in reference to having to seat two kids.

I don't think I was ever in a child seat growing up where I did (dash cams are there to prove of the type of driving), I am still alive and well a few decades later. If you think I am gonna piss away $500 on a child seat you are fucking lost.

i always thought the same thing, but a baby changes you.

Also it was really the only option, the other ones left the front seat unusable in my wifes SX4. That was worth the price right there.

it's $500 boohoo, it;s not ike i am going into debt to buy a car seat lol

I'm all for not raising bubble kids, but things like car seats and bike helmets are undisputably helpful in saving lives/injuries. Our parents didn't wear seatbelts when they were young, but that doesn't mean that seatbelts don't save lives.

I would never buy a used car seat. I'd take a hand-me-down from friends/family, but not buy a used one. Once a seat has been in a crash, it's supposed to be thrown away.

I find it funny that a bunch of people that spend thousands on one of the biggest wastes of money on the planet (aka cars) are complaining about spending $500 on something that is for child safety.

i'm sorry i don't understand this shit. $1G+ for a flippin stroller? our 3-1 greco stroller, infant car seat and base worked just fine...i'd rather spend that other $500 on the kid. that's just me tho.

SW20_mr2 is right tho, when we got rear-ended at about 15ish km/h insurance bought us a new car seat and seat base.

I've had ownership of the M3 for what's coming up as the fourth year and I've dropped 4k this winter to bring it back to life, that's 1k/year or $83/month over the time I've owned it. My civic is literally free to drive and I drive a company truck the rest of the time.

So my month to month expense isn't even close to ONE csi monthly car payment.

Let's not even go there, my vehicle expenses are way below average for this place.

Just saying half a grand for a fucking child seat? Please.

1k for a fucking stroller, WOWOWOW.

You want to piss money away, go ahead. I don't have rich parents to get hand outs from we are just average people. Fuck this noise.

Flexin is right. Graco is awesome for what you get. Even Chicco if you want something a bit fancier than Graco. But as always you got posers who drop 1000$+ on strollers lol

who has rich parents? not me! I dont get free hand outs ( ok i will get free babysitting because my mom wants to do it) i busted and continue to bust my ass like you do.
Congrats, I have zero car payments as well, feels good no? I ad car payments on my orange civic and i'll never do it again.
You can by whatever seat you want, this one worked for us. If one for $250 or whatever did the job i would have bought that one, but i liked this one and it FIT THE CAR. makes life easier day to day, and my daughter stopped screaming and crying on every car ride. That alone is worth the cost!
