depends on how badly the owners actually need the money.. some will sell off, but some might just hold onto it because they can afford to.

It'd be nice if it starts a drop in average rental prices in the area though...

Prices would have to drop 40% in order for them to be "cheap".

At the current pricing, I don't think the rent $$ would cover the mortgage, maintenance fees to make it worth while. (unless you factor in the unit's price to appreciate)

my guess... high rental rates with owners giving proxy to the management company made up of self serving lawyers and accountants. My condo has "cheap" condo fees, and they're currently suing the previous management company for entering into a bad long term contract.

I move next month. New place is M5V. I know, I can't believe it either but it had to be done, there's more back story to it but gotta have the wife happy too. As for toys, they all fit on the roof of the car, and if a blow boat ever enters the picture it'll be in plain view from my bedroom window.

Gf's parents are listing their east york house, wondering what will happen.

Two people on the street found out and some very very generous private offers have come in. Will update.

I work in the Hammer and she works at Joseph Brant. We are considering downsizing, space not cost. We recently found out she has some serious health issues. A condo has less upkeep if I have to start taking care of her more.

She's ok for now and shes very optimistic. It's not like they have given her a year to live. I keep using a Lance Armstring quote on her "Guy's done more with one testicle than you and I could do with three" usually makes her laugh. The downsize is just in case idea, but probably won't happen for a few years until we have some equity in this place and only if she gets significantly worse.

it's hamilton - more towards the ghetto part. however, the closer you are to the mountain or on the mountain - the more $$ it s worth.
