Must be vertical. I think, I hope, that's the only requirement. Shot some stuff last weekend but turned out I didn't read the assignment very well and missed the vertical part. It's for a local hardware store, so they asked not to receive rare lilies or anything like that, but something that could actually be useful for this situation. The first shots were on a potting bench with some soil spilled out of a scoop, a pair of dirty gloves, a straw hat hanging in the back, and some herb that were being transplanted into permanent pots. Oh well.
Went to the OC Great Park today. It's on the former El Toro Marine Corps air base property. They film Top Gear USA there. They've also cleaned up a huge portion and have fields for league sports (flag football, soccer, frisbee stuff) and a farmers market on Sundays. There's a giant hot air balloon and a carousel and a farm. The farm is pretty small now but they intend to grow it. The whole park is on a 20 year plan and only a few years into it. I shot my weather assignment here, the garden area of the farm is awesome. It's sponsored by Scott's but has a lot of organic stuff growing and some neat concepts. Square foot gardening, straw bale gardens, raised beds, vertical towers for strawberries, lots of fruit trees, it's pretty sweet.
I've got three shots I like, but can't quite decide which I'll submit.
I like this one but I think I just like it because it's fancy with the hot air balloon in the hummingbird feeder hook, though the feeder IS a product you could find in a hardware store gardening department. Sun was about 90* left, time was around 11am I think on all of these.

This one is my favorite, because of the definition on the water. Sun was directly behind me. Maybe I could have bounced some light back through the water to brighten it up some more? Don't know how I'd handle that.

I'm leaning towards submitting this image because of the included product. I don't like the water quite as much in this, but could just be nit picking.
