FYI I said "a couple of days" because I had the tank cranked to full since forever. I have a big ass tank, not no small half-sized one. When I removed the valve I had set the temp to be right in the middle of of the hottest and coldest setting. A couple days later the faucet is still really hot even at that setting. I didn't think the water would be that hot even at the mid setting. Guess I gotta turn it down even more.

the middle setting is still going to pump out hot water....

i wouldnt turn it down much more than that. you should measure the temp as to not go too low

Your tank should cool down in a couple of hours tops.
