I have a big ass tank, not no small half-sized one. When I removed the valve I had set the temp to be right in the middle of of the hottest and coldest setting. A couple days later the faucet is still really hot even at that setting. I didn't think the water would be that hot even at the mid setting. Guess I gotta turn it down even more.

Your tank should cool down in a couple of hours tops.
