Hard top looks OEM to me, aero I don't believe is. haven't actually seen that before. Looks nice, would be hot as hell in white. I think the newer tails are less offensive too, or you could just cover them in a red lens.

the fender flares are rx8-esque to me.
I haven't paid attention to newer miatas but the flares look good.
hardtop looks good (though it would be a non-starter since I drive miatas by looking OVER the windshield)
wheels are nice
taillights appear to be stocker (or pretty close)

There is nothing appealing about that silver one posted above. All I can think is DIAF. FUGLY.
It looks like a bone stock Mazdaspeed.
It's a nice car if you're into the power wheels effect as an adult.

A local guy here in Toronto had one deep in the 11s on a Miata motor. Built 1.8 (pistons and rods) big turbo, nitrous, RX7 (FC) tranny and rear end, drag radials too IIRC.
There was a guy named Ric (minimonster was his moniker I believe) who was the first on a full Miata drivetrain in the 10s.
As for why, well, most people aren't inclined to turn such a great handling car into a drag racer. That's why Supras are so good at it  And as good as the motors are there are limits, and you still have the physics of a short wheelbase to deal with.

I have a question. I know miatas are known for handling but why don't you see them more at the drag strip? Is the engine that weak that it can't take some internals and about 500-600whp on the stock block? Is it the rear end? Is it a lack of a strong transmission? I mean they are light, small, and relatively cheap for the older models. It seems like an obvious project car.
I took mine to Bradenton (rednecksburg, FL) one night and went 4/4 against (slow) Mustangs. It was awesome.
Why don't you see more there? Not a big cross-section of people who like drag racing and people who like Miatas.

It's not built for good, hard launches. There are much better platforms for dragging. Plus they aren't that great on a road course with a ton of power. The fastest ones I've heard of are in the 3-350whp range. I think the Rotrex guys may be the fastest due to super tractable and predictable power delivery.
