I've been out of the buttsex game for awhile and this is the first I've heard of the FFS. It sounds like a killer option and I was just on Autotrader looking at NBs for the last 15 minutes There was a nice BRG '99 with 63k, but the guy was asking 7 grand and that's $1000 over KBB value. What was I saying before about 2 seaters? Are most people running E85 with that setup? They are advertising ~190whp with their kit sans E85.
No, and if it were a daily, I wouldn't either, I only have one station near me. Some people bitch that it lacks an IC and has a primitive engine management (basically runs a fifth and sixth injector setup to add fuel and cool the charge), but some people have hit 260whp with it and I don't know of a single engine failure. Good looking curve too.

Nice lube job.
What does that weigh with the s52 swap?

I believe that car sits somewhere in between the 2600-2700lb range. A recipe for success!

Haven't driven anything new lately, not that I imagine anything making me want to dump the Evo. However received some good news recently and I think I may be able to start resurrecting my Mustang sooner than later. It's been a very long time since I've felt a rumbling V8 under my right foot.

My only V8 sucked, but holy fuck did it sound good (Pontiac 301 with dual exhaust and reversed glass packs) That engine is literally a v8 on a technicality only.
Seriously.
Though I would not have minded driving a turbo 301 when newer...before any of the numerous bugs cropped up, if only to see what it was like...

It was so freaking bad. And it had a Rochester Dual-Jet on top - which was a Quadra-Junk with the secondaries blanked off but otherwise the same casting. 8 miles per gallon with maybe 130ish hp.
The thing that hurt the most was it was a '77 Skylark coupe, but GM lost its mind in 1977 and started throwing whatever they had laying around into whatever chassis was available. It was like russian roulette and I got the single worst V8 they ever made. Pow, right to the head. And I was too young and stupid (and there was no internet) to figure it all out ahead of time.

Though, to be honest, there were worse v8's.
Pontiac 265 Chevy 262 Ford 255 Olds 260 (which also spawned the beyond bad what-the-hell-were-they-thinking olds diesel[seriously...what the f' were they thinking?!? {gas v8 coverted to diesel?!?}])
Notice a pattern? All ubber small versions of normal v8's, all creatures of the late 70's.
Sure, the chrysler "lean-burn" and fuel injected v8's of the same era were horrid; Great idea, that "lean-burn", but the primitive computers of the era and the fact it had to be vacuum controlled using crude temp devices and egr controls made it unworkable along with none-too-terribly precise for the application fuel metering of a carb. BUT, when you got sick of chasing all the bugs, you could simply throw on a distributer, or in the case of the FI engines, a regular carb and you had a pretty standard reasonably strong, normal sized v8.
The 301 was around 130-ish HP (on a very good day...), but those others were all in the sub-120 range, all with enough vacuum hoses to run from here to...well, 80 feet from here...that's still alot(!), and all were plagued with many of the same running/driveability gremlins that made the lean burns and FI 318's hard to live with.
So while the 301 was bad...it was still quite a bit less horrid than those uber small guys.

On the other hand, in 1976 my exact same model would have come with a Buick 350. /still bitter after 17 years

Well right now I'm on the fence about either building up an LS7-based 440 for my T/A, or picking up a new Regal Turbo (not the GS) after the winter for a daily driver.
I keep waffling and right now there's a 440 shortblock for sale on LS1tech from a guy 2 hours away, and it's really, really tempting to pull the trigger. 10 years with the 346, later aided by spray, was fun but I'm ready for some big cubes.

I don't get to drive fun cars, I drive a Ford Fusion. Just rolled over 90k miles this morning in it. It had about 46k when we got married a year and a half ago.

I've got the beater mostly sorted (1997 Hyundai Accent base model hatch, 5spd with a/c and no p/s). 2000 pound cars with manual steering can be surprisingly fun to drive, even if its a shitbox.
Finally replaced the rear tire on the WR250X since I got a flat about a month ago (tire was past the wear bars anyways) and went for a ride the last couple days. I think I'm going to sell it next year, just doesn't "do it" for me anymore and want something different.
New car test drives?
Drove the Fiat 500 a few weeks ago and was wholly unimpressed. Brakes were awesome, handling was more than ok, and the driver's seating position was pretty good but visibility sucked, interior room sucked (I was almost shoulder to shoulder to the salesman), and it was slow. Felt slower than my old oil burning Accent, with a worse ride and less room and less visibility. Reminded me a lot of the Smart FourTwo but with a real transmission and a backseat... the salesman said that was one of their most common trade-ins for the 500.
Test drove a Mazda2 hatch a few months ago, and it was a great peppy little small car, even with the automatic which might have been one of the best least intrusive automatics I've driven.
Sat in a Veloster yesterday. Me likey, a lot. Gonna wait to find a stick version with no options to drive one, but on paper it could make a great DD and stock class autocrosser...
I'm considering the following for next year:
A) New small car, so far the Veloster and Mazda2 are top of my list. HStock autocross and DD. Add a hitch to carry race tires and/or the motorcycle. Or a kart and keeping the car as a DD only.
2) New small pickup to bypass trailer hassles. Thinking another Tacoma, probably another 4cyl 5spd 2wd but getting the factory toolbox(es). Then getting a kart to go with the bike(s) for a racing toy.
III) Finances and good sense have me keeping the Hyundai since in nice weather it will be driven extremely infrequently, it runs decently as is, and I already own it. Add a hitch and build a small HF trailer for bike transport. Selling the WR next year and getting another new or new to me bike or two (one street one dirt) and trying to get a co-drive in someone elses car next season for autocrossing, or getting a kart again.

I still break out in laughter when I drive the GTI. Fuck you old men. < also still has a soft spot for vw's all i've driven is the same wrx as the last 5 years now. passed 71K a couple days ago... oh and of course my wife's car, had that for 8 years. i'd like to say it's about time for a changing of the guard, but it's still only 92K miles and has been paid for forever ago.
i thought i posted in this thread lol. we did replace the wife's car nearly a year to the day after this post, with a '13 CX-5. still have that wrx though, now about to turn 96K!
