i'm crossposting from another forum. I took the x100 out to the LA auto show because
a) i didn't want to bring the slr and be weighed down
b) new toy + horrible light conditions = good test

i've noticed a few pretty obvious things
-it'll snap one off even if it blows focus. kind of an "ok boss, whatever you say" thing.
-AF is hilarious. this is coming from a 5d2 owner. whatever, find contrast, hit.
-wide open = a tad soft
-the colors O_O
-this thing is hilariously fun to use and ninja quiet

high iso perf is godlike for something this small. i'm seriously impressed it hangs with my canon at iso3200+. I haven't really pixel peeped yet, so i can't say if it outperforms it or not.

i was dead set on waiting for an m8 until i saw they have pretty crap high iso perf. I find myself living at 3200+ lately, so it's a deal breaker.

love that focal length period \:D

my one regret was that i left my 5d2 with 24mm at work. mas wider, sometimes mas better. also 1.4 > 2.0

no matter. i'm still getting used to the sketchy focus and the odd exposure behavior of this camera, but it's definitely getting easier.
