umm i know how tall i am, so not sure what point you're trying to make. You can see in the shoulder height as a measuring stick...i'm tallest, buddy in the middle is next and buddy on the right is shortest...

do i need to stand and take a pic next to a 7-11 door to prove my height?:-)

bulking, bulking, bulking. started at about 245lbs








sitting at 218 right now.

yes I'm dropping weight while bulking, half ass dieting while using my fat to burn off as energy.

numbers.

bench - 165x6 (weak i know, it goes up like 2.5-5 pounds every week.)
shoulder press - 190x6
seated hammer rows - 250x6 (per arm)
seated cable rows - 275x6
upright rows - 200x6
curls - 200x3
palm down curls - 170x6
cable pull downs (like pull ups I guess) 160x6 (still weak here)

Not doing a lot of squats or power cleans, I should be but my workout partner has a bum knee, so we so the seated squat thing I did 12 plates 5 times until my neck felt like it was going to pop. each rep knee's touched my chest.

reverse hack squat - 120lbs x 6 (it's not easy)
hamstring curls - 160x6
leg extensions - 180x6 (this is where i tweaked my ankle)
calf raises or extensions whatever 300x12

I'm happy with the strength I am gaining, I by far do not look like I am buff obviously because I'm a sloth. But my girlfriend keeps telling me how much smaller I am yada ya.

So it helps motivate me.

I need to switch up my routine, anyone have any recommendations?

I don't think I'm really doing anything to shock the memory at this point. Been doing the same routine since march.

After having fucked up my back nearly 10 weeks ago I'm still taking it easy on lifts utilizing it.

Bench: 225x3

I'm doing a 5v5 clean and press crossfit style workout at 135 lbs, combined with 5v5 pullups, and 5v5 front squats at 165 until I can really strengthen my lower back and start adding the weight back on.

Before my injury I was deadlifting 405x5 and squatting 315x5.

Slow and steady wins the race, I don't want to fuck this up again.

Everyone is different...

I have acid reflux, I don't like to eat a shitload of food or load up on calories and protein. Those pics were taken after breakfast and some coffee after my morning gym session.

I'm steady at 218-225.

I haven't been doing any cardio to be honest, my roommate is on some mission to have a dick measuring contest with our old weight lifting roommate so he avoids cardio like the plague.

I have to go to the gym twice a day just to get my cardio in because he's a big dude.

Needless to say, at the weight I am at, I fit into all of my old smaller clothes, although the lovehandles leave leaps and bounds of progress ahead.

I seriously think without crossfit training implemented into my routine somehow, it's not going to burn itself off.

I want to do deads and power cleans, but the dude I lift with has a fucking plastic knee. So he refuses and I have to go with someone else...

So rarely do I get a good olympic lift day in.

like I said.

I'll continue doing what I do and pop in every 2 months to post progress otherwise I could care less what you especially have to say.

I've made a bit of progress lately. Down to about 195 or so from 235. Been adding in a lot of olympic lifts lately and I've been running about 20k a week. Pounds should starting coming off again now that I've added in some cardio.

Wayne, how long has it been since you started? It seems like it's been 2 years. I think you need to ask yourself if you're really serious about this or not, because you're not committed. You DO make excuses (ie I don't do this exercise because my workout partner doesn't, etc.).

It's been long enough that if you REALLY wanted to be thin, you would be by now. What happened to the old Wayne that was all "I'm going to show that bitch of an ex-wife what's up?" THAT guy was motivated. You just don't have that spark that people who are serious about losing weight have. I suggest you find it before you wake up and find that you're 55 and twice the weight you are now.

Hey 137, I don't agree with jumping all over someone and calling them fat but fuck I guess it's what people do around here. I haven't seen your pictures before so don't know if you have improved or not but props for posting anyway.

Honestly though, from completely unbiased opinion cause I dont know you --- you did list an awful lot of excuses. I should know since I used lame excuses for 10 years as to why I couldn't get in shape. Most people do it and in your own mind they are legitimate but listen to others because lame excuses are never lame to the person giving them ;\)

I decided to 'get in shape' last June. I was small AND fat at 180 pounds. Now I'm 178 pounds and still a skinny fuck but I'm better than I was last year and I will be better next year.

everyone has to start from somewhere.. I started at 110 lbs, 6'0 at 17yr old. Do i wish i was like my buddy who was 225lbs at 18 growing up/working on a farm and playing Varsity football during his freshman year in high school? And topping out at 285lbs in college? yeah, but after talking to him and the back problems he has had from carrying so much weight. NO. I would like to be at 225lbs now at my age and at 10-12% BF...
