I just have to say that you did an amazing job...I have seen you go through many things during the process and i have to commend you on your efforts. I am in amazement every time you tell me about something you saw or did on the job. It truly takes a strong person to see the things that you see every day on the job. It is unfortunate that things like this need to happen in order for people to realize that its just not worth the drinking and driving. A whole family basically had to die because of one stupid person. I think that this is a situation we can all learn from.....Please don't drink and drive people, its just not worth it!

My stomach churned and my heart ached as I read your story.
Way to keep your cool and do your best at what you do every day. It is definitely one of the most (if not the most) difficult jobs out there and kudos for busting your ass out there to save lives everyday.

What a damn tragedy. This one will probably stick with you for a while, J. Especially since, like it said in the paper, it was 100% preventable. If I had to deal with this (and all the other stupid things people do) first hand, day in and day out, it would make me a very angry, cynical person ... even more so.

i just read your last few entries. still can't believe you were first on scene for that finch collision. amazing that you were able to keep your composure and carry through.
it also got me wondering, is it typical for EMS to be called into court as expert or lay witnesses where the call had criminal involvement?
