Just brought my car in for servicing and was told that honda canada just release the service bulletin on the 3rd gear problem that the US had for a while. But all the parts are on back order

davecalgary... ur an idiot.. dealerships don't make much money off of warranty works.. thats why a lot of the techs doesn't want to work on warranty works and thats also why the dealership is a bitch about doing warranty jobs... and shop foreman??? do you know what the role of a shop foreman is??? shop foremans are techs thats been there for a really long time.. basically a knowledgeable senior tech...i think u meant service advisor..i think u should study up on how the dealership works before you spout all these nonsense..

We had both of our Sis done, and what a huge difference. Our white coupe was really terrible. The 4 door, not so bad, but still way smoother now anyways.

He is right. Dealerships DO make decent money off warranty work, but it's based off the reimbursement table managed by HoA. It's secondary in dealer preference, however, because they do not collect the additional 20% profit in parts.

Well I live in NC and the closest Honda Dealership is in Cleveland TN. I called and they told me I'd have to bring it in and they'd have to duplicate it to even consider it. Well, I'm not wasting my money to drive down there when it's not doing it all the time. It will slip out of 3rd gear about 2 times a week. They said they aren't going to "throw parts" into my car and "waste their time" fixing it if they can't duplicate it. Damn that pissed me off. I told them I was gonna call corporate and that's what I did. Corporate stayed on the phone with me and dialed 3 way to West Side Honda in Knoxville, TN. They set me up an appointment for tomorrow (sat the 26th) They were super nice about it. Let's hope they fix it.
I usually have no problems out of Honda but you think after giving Cleveland TN Honda so much business in the past 5 years they would appreciate me a little bit more. Their services DPT is BS.

Don't forget that dealers MUST duplicate the problem to be considered for reimbursement by HoA. Make sure the dealer test drives your car after it's cooled down a bit (several hours).

that 20% is quite some money there... davecalgary was making it sound like they got a lot.. so is it decent money if ur at a 20% loss? i know a lot of techs who told me that they really disliked warranty works because it is a hassle and they do not get paid much.. and im talking about techs thats been out in the field for 20+ years.

Yea, well took my car in early tues morn. They still got my car. Was gonna get it back wednesday. But they said they effed up the speedsensor so they couldn't test it til they got one. So on friday the new speedsensor came in and apparently when they drove it, something was still wrong or they broke something, they weren't very clear when they said it was still messed up. I have I/H reflash and I hope they don't screw with my shit or reflash the ecu or something weird. Or I hope they didn't eff something up on alot larger scale, like blow my subs up or something and just not telling me.

Well West Side Honda in Knoxville TN drove my car after I took it down there this weekend. They said I definately had a problem with 3rd gear. While it didn't pop out on the one occasion they drove it, it did provide unusual resistance and grinding when trying to get into gear. They ordered the parts for me and told me to bring the car in thursday morning and plan to pick it up saturday for safe measure.
