Marcus, what's wrong with your stock wheels (everything is wrong with your stock tires). The oem wheels are nice, personally I'd leave them. There is no right answer to this question. Rota's tend to be inexpensive and light but then you have to choose a look you like. On the other extreme, you can buy something that's all the craze like volk or work wheels, which are really expensive and light. I'd avoid the junk (most les scwab type wheels such as American Racing, Focal, etc).
For tires, search the skidpad forum. Those guys know alot about tires. http://www.tirerack.com also has a review system, so after people buy tires, they can post their experience. Might be a good guide, but be sure to average the results. I'm running Kuhmo Ecsta's on my CRX and Falken Azenis on my EG. Pretty hard to buy worse tires than those factory michelins. Also, I've got Si wheels on my EG and Rota's on my CRX.

i use rota for track wheels, ive had 5 sets, ive never once had a problem. granted there a dime a dozen but for the money you really cant go wrong.

If you are going to spend the type of cash to get JDM wheels then you should also check out OZ and BBS offerings. I think they are superior to the JDM stuff.

Kosei K1 TS = 12.6 pounds, $119 per rim on Tire Rack. If you can find a lighter cheaper rim, that is still reasonably durable, buy it.

I have to agree with you, the kosei K1's are cheap and light, althought personally I don;t think they are the greatest looking wheels; I have a set but use them strickty for track duty.

gram lights arent exactly volks, they are rays (same company but different division, rays foundry (cast) and volk (forging)) rays wheels are almost all cast (except for the 17 and 18" 57F's). for the price of a set of rotas you could get 1 forged volk te37, if they break just get another set, i would rather spend 500 on a set that weights 12 lbs per wheel (slipstream) than 2000 on a set that weighs 9lbs per wheel (te37).
