i used to use armorall to wipe down my dash and interior but it seemed to be drying it out . i then started using windex and it seemed to keep the car looking cleaner but the shine wouldnt last as long, but still didnt look like it was drying it out. I still currently use windex but i think it has ammonia in it. Wouldnt that dry dashboards out as well. Can anyone suggest a product to give me a shine but wont bake in the sun and dry the dash out.?? My dad just bought a 2002 convertible corvette and i told him i would clean it and shine it up but its black interior and the last thing i want to do is dry out his/my cars. Thanks

Windex is designed for household glass, IMO it should stay there. Use products that are designed for your dash. The armorall you were using is really not a bad a product, despite popular internet rumor. They changed the formula and it is now a water-based silicone emulsion that is perectly safe for your interior.

Personaly on *my* interiors I use vinylex, Meguiars #40, or 303. Just depends on my mood really.

Nothing wrong with that at all, a lot of people do this, myself included depending upon the texture of the dash that I am treating.

I usually wipe down the wipe with a moist cloth and call it a day. You really don't need chemicals to make your dash look good.

swiffers work good too for a quick dusting. do it while you wait for the car to warm up 30 seconds. look good all thje time that way, and forces you to let the car idle a few seconds

Holy piss you brought the back from the dead. No one had said anything in almost a year. Haha, but yea, damp MF towel ftw.

Hell yeah. I also like Griot's Garage glass cleaner, but the Stoner's is best.

I'll also repeat what others have said - Meguiar's #40, 303, Vinylex. Any water based protectant with UV protection is fine, but those three are great. I prefer a low-gloss product designed for the interior, and all three of these are fine. I think Vinylex is a little thicker and greasier than the others, though.

I hit the interior with a protectant about once every 1-2 months, and wipe it down with a damp cloth every week.

I just use anything that has UV protection an does not have a real high gloss, then after that I just dust it off with microfiber towel or a static feeling house duster about every 3 months I almost never get dust, but then again I vacuum my car every month, so I guess I get rid of the dust.

Hell, I'm up for trying it too. All I've ever used is Meguiar's #39 for really dirty spots and #40 every couple months for maintanence. Shoot me a PM and I'll reply with my info.
