So with Musk being the dick that he is, as well as no roadmap for vehicles, the idea of a Tesla Model Y 7 seat configuration is out. (So is picking up a used current-gen Y.)
So, we're in the market to trade in my TLX for a 6-8 seater.
Is there an easy way to figure out wait times for vehicles, by brand, model? (Other than walking in or calling dealerships...)
We're looking/considering: - comfy 5 seater, with 'jump seat' (i.e. 1-3 more uncomfortable seats for short rides) - Leather seats - Decent cargo that can handle 2 large suit cases + 3 small - Prefer some EV/hybrid for that cheap monthly gas bill - Tech: 360 cam, smart sensor shit (love idea of autopilot) - Features: AWD, glass roof, etc
Budget: - $50-75k
Considerations: - Toyota Grand Highlander (2nd row bench over 2nd row captains), wait time wtf? - Toyota Sienna (wait time wtf?) - Mazda CX-90 - Honda Pilot (3.5L, no hybrid, but has VCM) - Rivian (Considering, but pretty much out of price range) - Lexus TX 500h (pushing budget, and wife sees it as a Toyota)
No to: - BMW X7, Audi Q7, Benz (out of budget) - Porsche (no 6+ seats), Tesla (Musk asshole) - Kia, Hyundai (ugh) - Genesis (GV80 3rd row only avail in 3.5L model) - Honda Odyssey (2nd row sliding sweet, but 2WD and 3.5L? Seems so old compared to Sienna) - Acura MDX (3.5L, old tech) - Lucid ($$$$$) - Subaru (ugly AF) - Cadillac ($$) - Range Rover ($$) - American brands like Ford, Chrysler, etc.
I personally am used to Honda/Acura reliabiity and cost effectiveness ....

Get a Pilot and call it. Friend just got it, was originally going to get the Lexus equivalent of the grand highlander, safety recalls/stop sales spooked him. Went to the pilot from a Q7, pretty happy with the choice. His biggest thing was the comfort of the 3rd row, apparently Pilot is great in this respect, and this is likely key for you since you are the one sitting back there anyway.

Ya, if you're a Honda die-hard then just go Pilot and be happy/done.
I would atleast take a look at the new Palisade though, options look sweet and it has a hybrid model as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWRBUBHJi7c

pilot is the one, driven every iteration and this current one is amazing. punches well above its weight. next passport also great (same platform but with the rear seats chopped off)....but kind pricey for what it is. handles great tho. mdx still good in its mid model cycle too. next gen ody gonna be epic, but it's a ways out still srryyyyy
Of course this is all without bias right? lol
