I'd like for as many people from Maine to Florida, the Ohio Valley and areas nearby to make it out, but I realize it's a hell of a drive for some people, and not everyone will make it. That being said:
We're planning a cook-out meet in VA Beach for Saturday, September 3rd, 2005. I haven't gotten an exact time yet, nor exact location(Kevin aka vbeachboy is helping with some information). After the cook-out there are plenty of other things to do, but the basic meet would be the cook-out itself. I'm working on numbers for the park and hotels. What I need is an exact headcount by August 1st on whether or not you're going to make it. Then I can give everyone an amount to pre-pay to RSVP their spot. Your money will cover some of the cost to rent a pavillion, and food(burgers/hot dogs/sausages/chips/etc).
I'm thinking the best way to let me know for sure if you're in or not is to PM me as soon as you know to make this easier.
Let's make this the best East Coast meet CSi has never had  Who knows, with Cali having been successful with their North meets South, and ours turns out great, we might arrange a national meet finally

word I'll go. our first football game is away at NC state on Sunday so I'll drive down from Virginia Tech, stay at my cousin's house and drive back sunday.

I'm beginning to think Kevin fell off the face of the Earth again, so bear with me as I get information for parks to cook-out at, and places to stay  Thanks guys, I really hope more people will decide to come out.
If we want to reserve a picnic shelter, it looks like because of the dates we want it'll have to be a full day rental which runs $100. I found one that is closely located to the beach called Red Wing Park.

Sorry Mary. Like I said, I'll help out when I can, but I'm almost always busy and don't get the chance to check the forums like I used to. Red Wing park is a good place to have the meet/picnic though. Unfortunately, Sept 3rd is a bad day for me, but I'll be in town the rest of that weekend. I've just had plans for that day for awhile now, and probably will only be able to come to the picnic for a short while as long as it is on that day.
Any other plans regarding the rest of that weekend? I'll try to at least check this thread from time to time to see what is going on.

Pavilion is reserved, payment has to be made by Aug 12th, so I can extend the RSVP date until Aug 10th. That way everyone can make needed arrangements and get back to me.

I found a hotel in Chesapeake, about 17 miles from the park, for $55 a night. I can call tomorrow and see if I rent out a block(for those interested)for a cheaper rate.
Sun Suites in Chesapeake, $55 a night with Orbitz for those who wanted to know.
I've left a message with the GM to see if I can negotiate a better rate, but I need to know how many rooms, people!

Okay people, today is D-Day. If you're coming, you need to let me know today, and send me $10. I have to pay $100 on Friday for the pavilion, and whatever is left from the money sent to me is going to the food fund. I also need to know who is definetly coming so I can buy the right amount of food for everyone. Anyone who shows up without bothering to let me know runs the risk of not eating. I think the very least you can do is donate $10 since I'm footing a lot of this on my own til the day of the meet. I'll gladly bring receipts for everything so no one thinks I'm trying to make money off this 
Okay, couple of important questions:
1) Burgers and hot dogs okay with everyone? Chips, potato salad, that kind of thing? Can we start a list of people who intend to bring food to donate to the cookout?
2) We're at pavilion 1, which is conveniently located near the softball field and volleyball court. So bring any softball/baseball gear you might have, because you never know when an impromptu game might break out I'll bring a volleyball, and I thought I might also bring a kickball or dodgeball to spice things up a bit.

It's roughly a 9 or so hour drive for me 
but considering all the hotels near that area are either booked up or incredibly expensive, sleeping outdoors doesn't sound like such a bad gig
