shocker: eating less and resisting temptation[same thing] *please update your files, per BMI I am no longer overweight [189 is the threshold at my height/woot] *also running a lot doesn't seem to hurt |

First of all, I used my hacking skills to determine stickaz is 6'1" tall! I was hoping you'd turn out to be 5'5" or something but so it goes and then... Originally Posted By: zakcits *also running a lot doesn't seem to hurt Understatement of the century man. Glad you figured it out - far too easy to coast along on your newfangled "bicycles" I was eating like four solid meals a day and still got down to this weight by running a stupid amount. And finally - congratulations man!! What's your end goal here? |
I just want a 'safe' blood cholesterol/triglyceride reading once or twice maybe last year I thought I could be a 'fast' tri person than I noticed my run was off-the-charts slow , so that goal up there ^^ became my primary one being a mid-packer is ok with me [but I will do my best in the pool :D] |

Nice! Soon you'll be posting shirtless all over the forums. I finally dipped back under 160 the other day. Hoping I can see 155 on the scale by the 20th. |

Since November I put on weight and went 160 to 170 and its annoying. I need to get on all your guy's routine! |

5'11" and smack dab in the middle of my BMI @ 174. I might drop to 170 and see how I feel/perform. Nice job Stickaz! |

Efforts to shake the winter weight have been half-hearted so far. I think when I get some outdoor miles in, that'll change, as those are usually longer workouts. I fell back into the sugar vortex, though. I'd shaken it pretty well over the summer. Here I am, gathering parts to weight weenie a couple of my bikes while I can lose weight from myself for free. |
I've been finding the best way to keep the winter weight off is to sign up for a marathon in early Spring. Seriously though, anything to keep us motivated is a good thing. |
I'm down another pound, despite not running for shit, not lifting, etc. Apparently just cycling a bit and being constantly exhausted helps for weight loss too. |

1600 is pretty low even for someone at 180 and exercising. You could try different foods or bumping up the calorie intake slightly (depending on your current weight). 1-2 weeks with no change is normal; 2+ weeks is where many will make adjustments to the routine. I'd be surprised if your body composition hasn't improved, irregardless of 0 weight loss. |
I think I'm eating around ~2500/day avg |
You also run a ton. 3 miles at our pace is ~360 calories. 30 min on the weights is 180-200ish calories, depending on frequency/intensity. |

I think [just being honest] the real reason I wasnt losing weight was I had/have/still have no idea how many calories I eat. Eg eat 3000 calories, [but I thought it was 2200] and I dont lose weight rather it goes up. Burn an extra 800 calories in there as the fudge-factor and it works out to at least not gain weight then figure out how to eat fewer calories [I know, this shouldnt be challenging, dur], and even if your supposed 2000 calories is actually 2500 and your base-metabolism burns like 1500 or whatever if you burn off another 800 calories I guess you'll drop weight finally. But it's that fudge-factor of the burning-off-the-calories that seems to permit errors on the intake side |

Whoops. |

I found calorie counting worked for me, plus 2-3 days in the gym plus a cardio day each week (Hockey).. Lost a decent amount since early Dec plus getting stronger in the gym. Feels good. |

Weight != fat Also, to prevent catabolism on a calorie restricted diet, up the protein. And lift. Not hard. |

43# ...back to overweight *190# on the nose yesterday **goes shopping for fat-pants |

Yeah man, and I'm still hovering around 230 (I'm 6'3) I've got a ways to go. |

apparently the struggles are real got to double-down to drop another 5 it looks like. That diet tho |

Trendline still down, tri coming. Pretty soon you'll be rocking the smedium |

everybody's favorite thread, I'm sure 2nd official "non-overweight" weigh-in last night [189.0 pre-workout/post dinner] 4#'s to go if I can be in the ~upper 180s in 8.5 weeks for my next olympic tri that would be sweet |
Did I miss a thread on how your Olympic tri went this past weekend? It was this past weekend, right? |
yea, 'learn me on tri thread' page 1 |
woot: dropped another pound [seemingly] trend appears to be dropping approx 0.5#/week at 'overweight starting point' -1# now :D, eg at the tippy-top of the 'normal' 3# from "goal weight", guess I need to lift more hehe |
We're going to cross like a torque curve lol 5252 From 155 in March I'm now 167 and climbing. |
I'm still stuck at 188. That said, I'm thinking the thousands of pushups, chin-ups and kettlebell swings that were done over the winter, along with a decent protein intake might have put on a bit of muscle mass. THAT said, the belly is bigger than it was in the summer. 43 in a couple of weeks and I'm thinking it's getting harder to drop weight with every passing year. |
I'm fairly steady in the 196-197 range. Ideally, I want to be 190. I was cutting out a few things, upping my cardio game etc. and I was getting no where. Oddly, it seems the minute winter ended, I dropped 2 pounds in a week where I didn't go as hard as usual. My body is weird. |
Down nearly 10lbs since the kiddo was born (~171 to 163). Not lifting for shit, just cycling a bit. |
187# last night i was noticing my pullup sets are getting easier and it's probably not because I'm getting stronger trying to schedule another hydrostatic weighing, guessing I'm 16-17% BF now [was 19.2% last oct I think I did it last]. My end-goal here was ~15% looks like I'll be able to nail that pretty easily this year weee |

...combo breaker!!! a solid 7# up #nailed_it I have no idea wtf happened. It was a 3-day weekend with some libation in there, but I've kept up on the program [~8-10 hrs of cardio/week, including a half marathon over the weekend]. Some of it was water I guess? |
so obese! [186.5# @ 6'1], no idea where I might end up weight wise, probably a few more to drop Just trying to improve cardio , some weights [mostly pullups hehe], prioritizing fork-downs and plate-pushes tho |
I know dat feel bro 216 to 178 in 68 days |

you were ginormous as little as 3 months ago? |
Dat winter weight lol |

appear to have plateued a little bit, maybe not a bad thing. Registering about 16% BF so I can lose 5# more easy from here I'm guessing |

looks like my genetics caught up with me. Maybe the large french fries wasnt a good idea over the weekend. Hoping my weigh-in tomorrow night is ~190# or so and I can ignore that little 192# spike last night I take back what I said about having my diet fully under control |

I'm down 6 pounds so far! Yay! |

seem to be stabilizing around ~187-8 post-dinner these days. Might be at 15.0% BF gonna check in Dec [16.2 in July] |

It took ten months to lose eight pounds? |
Much longer tbh, I hit 190# or so towards he middle of last year Current game is lower BF% while weighing about the same |
new threshold hit: I think I did a slightly better job on my diet this week. woo |

hopefully my weight trending slightly up is a good thing, will see with next hydro-weigh in in a couple months looking at the data, my average weigh-in for 2015 was 190# more or less on the nose. post holiday break I weighed in at 191# last night after dinner. Not too bad I think. Targetting holding 190 all year and lowering BF%, should be around 14.x now, we'll see I guess |
Update? |
not sure, weigh-ins are trending around ~193#, I think I'm probably lean. Got to schedule a BF%/appt |
