not as many as I used to be able to. 5 or 6 strict. Combination of extra weight and lack of working out does not add up to lots of pullups. At peak I could do in the low 20's with the last few being a little sketchy with body swing or neck stretching. |
I did 10, 8, 8, 5, 3, 3 the other day. I could do more in the past, currently getting back into the groove. That's legit too. No swinging around. All lats son. I don't do chinups. |

I'd be lucky to get 1 currently. |

I'd say 1-2. I'm no Buff Bagwell, guys. |

On a good day I can generally bang out 15-20 for the first set, but it rapidly decreases from there. |

Pretty sure I could do 5 chin-ups right now. Maybe 3 pull-ups. Hate pullups though...they kill my elbows. |

6, maybe 7. Getting back into the groove now, would like to be to 10 or so. |

Chin ups probably 30ish dont really care for these much. Pull ups finally back in the 12-15 range. Im willing to bet the vast majority cannot do a single pull up. |

no clue, i can do some chin ups but i have no idea how many. not sure when the last time i tried to do either of them was. i used to be able to bang them out when i was a kid during school fitness testing (chin ups iirc). |

The USMC had a pull up bar setup at Milwaukee Summer Fest a couple years ago. I think I did 31 or 32 when I was pretty buzzed. Usual workout set is 15, 12, 10, 10, 10. |

Maybe 5? I do 3-5 off my hang-board occasionally. I was working on getting above 12 a while back, but I find if I don't do it regularly I'm no good. I could do 5 with 45lbs of added weight a while ago, but I always fatigue on quantity on pull ups. Probably 15 chins though. SO much easier. I used to excel at flexed arm hang when I was a skinny fuck too. Just find that whole angle so much easier (shit lats IDK?) |

Not sure, I'd guess 14-15. I start with weighted ones (45's), then go to bodyweight. I don't find any significant difference between chins and pulls in rep counts though. |

palms facing away, 6 pullups. more if palms facing me. but, I weigh 192. I see these little buff guys at the gym, 5ft 2 and 130lbs, they do pullups like nothing. I could do a whole lot more if I weighed 130. Honestly though, I workout to stay in shape and be healthy, not to get "huge". I do like having muscle definition though |

It's really fucking hard. Like, exponentially harder then doing a regular pull/chin-up. But a fun skill to work on. I was strong and only 170lbs and I could never get one. I could do a weighted pull up with an 85lbs chain around my neck but could never get a one armed pull up. |

That's probably why your arm broke like a twig. There's a reason the gym teachers don't let the men do it, they're the experts. Stay safe. |

Was never able to do a one arm pull up, but used to bang out 20-30 pull ups in my prime. Now I just do a few sets of 8-10 reps and that's it, not sure what my max is, probably not much higher. What's the deal with chin ups vs. pull ups? Pulls up are noticeably easier imo. |

Some illegal mod who can't do pullups hid this thread over here. It certainly has nothing to do with fitness! |

I go super wide, all the way down and all the way up and keep the legs straight and I can do about 15 on the first set. There's no way some of the people in this thread get anywhere close to what they are claiming if they follow proper form. |

OP didn't ask how many wide arm pullups we could do. Ask a million people to do a pull-up and 99% of them are going to go with whatever feels natural, which Id imagine is somewhere around shoulder width. The photo OP posted is bit more than shoulder width. I am willing to bet that 80% of the people here will not be able to do a single pull up at that grip. Then again this is clubsi and everyone has wings like Arnold. I don't think anybody was suggesting that picture represented anything other than a generic pullup. |

That's why I strap a smaller bro to my back while I rep out... don't want to be there all day brochato. |

I can do 20, just actually had a comp at my gym, dead hang each time. I'm also a midget, 5'6 145 so I know they're not as hard for me as bigger guys. |
I have no idea. If I had a guess, I'd say 15 chins.....? |
Exactly 20! Not 19? 21? Everyone's round numbers are intrdasting. |
I did 20, it was quite difficult. I tried for 21 and couldn't do it, sorry for disappointing you johnso, you're the reason I do pull ups |
It must have been crazy existing in a world of round numbers like that. |
We've had a 50. And a 30 I think. Crazy I tell you. |

I assume only a few people in here actually have a clue what they're talking about. Here's 50...and hes doing them wrong https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QXqWWWwVPE 78 and still not right https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VB7L7XcDArs Not that they aren't strong or jacked. Bottom line...I SERIOUSLY question anyone saying 50. |

The black guy isn't that bad....at first. About a year ago I tried "hollow" pullups. http://www.menshealth.com/fitness/better-pullups They are a bitch, but awesome. I fucked up years ago. I would do pullups with straps. That was a mistake. My grip is still weak, but improving. |
i forgot about L pullups, those are great |

Lolz at this thread. Anyone claiming 15+ pull-ups needs to come with undeniable proof @ 1012.org |
for one set i could probably squeeze out 12-13, but my ass is weighing 237 now... lol and that's more of a neutral grip... with my shoulder injury, wide grip pulls ain't happening... |
I can do 20, but only with a neutral grip. With a wide grip, I can only get 12-15. I don't do wide grip anymore, though... hurts the fuck out of my elbows. |
73 shoulder width |

Good, this thread made its way out of OT so now I can add my input. 21 wide-grip pull-ups is my best at 5'8" 165lbs. Just did this yesterday actually. Under-grip and shoulder width I can pop off 25-ish? I haven't done them in months though. |
I just did 135 with 7 bricks tied to my dick. |

I think I've missed maybe 6 workouts all year? That's super. Have you actually been doing pullups? If no, you will be sub-10. Bank it. just did a max set, palms away grip, got 10x. rested for about a second at the bottom of each hang, feet off ground. ive done pullups probably 4 or 5 times in the past 2 years. gonna hurt tomorrow.. |

Wait, your feet can't be on the ground?! |

So I was wrong...I did 10 chin-ups this morning. Used to be easier when I weighed like 165lbs...not I'm 193. |

I can do at least... 4. |

In for chin up vids! |
Did wide-grip chins as a finisher this morning (back day). Did 6-6-5-4. For whatever that's worth lol... If I remember next back day I'll do them first and see where I max out at on the first set for the sake of posting results. |

Answer for me is 16. |

I struggled on the last one but the trainer said "We'll take it"...and I figure they were done right since he was there monitoring. And like I said, I have been lifting still all year, definitely putting up more weight but still need to work at it. |

i did 3 sets of 10 last week @ 238lbs, but I still cannot do a wide grip unless my hands are neutral... |

Time to work chest Hx. |

You have the fucking weirdest belly I've ever seen. Hangs like you weigh 300 pounds, but you clearly don't. |

Until then.... incline, flat, decline...pushups pushups and pushups. |

Just did 18 strict unbroken yesterday in honor of this thread. 5'10" 180ish lbs |
4 sets of 8 wide grip pull ups @ 5'7" 169 lbs Can also do 1 arm chin up x2 - but the free hand holding on to my wrist |
I just did 10 which is probably less than I would have guessed. Oh well need to add these to my weekly routine |
