Protein powde v.whatbrand

Like usual, I wait until I am completely out before ordering more so i'm sitting here figuring out what to buy.
I always buy ON Whey but it seems like every time I go to stock up the price has gone up, seems ridiculous right now at $79.99CAN for a 5lb. tub.

Are there any other well respected brands that I can trust that have a decent whey blend that isn't crazy expensive?

Re: Protein powde v.whatbrand

Hmm, never thought about buying protein powder at costco. I don't have a membership but my parents do.

Just checked costco.ca, they only list maximus, weider and dynawhey as they brands available, not sure if it is different in stores.

Re: Protein powde v.whatbrand

BJ's does a 5 lb bag of EAS Whey for $35. 150cal, 2g fat, 7g carb, 26g protein, 6.3g BCAA in a 39g serving (2 small scoops).

Tasty, but it might not be a big enough protein dose for the heavier lifters in this bunch.

Re: Protein powde v.whatbrand

I have been buying ON from bb.com for years, price has gone up 10 bucks in the last year or so but you can always get a 10% off your order coupon for bb.com so it's like 100 bucks which isn't bad for 10 lbs. shipping isnt much and its fast

Re: Protein powde v.whatbrand

Do you get nailed for taxes or any brokerage fees? They don't charge tax at checkout.

Edit - looks like they do charge tax when I go to pay.

Thanks for the heads up, $145 after exchange for 10lbs compared to $90.xx for 5lbs from amazon. Hopefully amazon cancels my order now.

Re: Protein powde v.whatbrand

Yeah they'll add on your provincial tax but no brokerage or fees on delivery.

10% off coupons are usually listed on here or you can find one by googling, few bucks off helps

Thanks, i'll bookmark that for next time, I had found one for $5 off $100 before I ordered.

Don't think there are BJ's up here, never see them when I search "supplements canada" on google

They have another brand that's about $8 cheaper. GFR Leanfit. I buy both, but just use the LeanFit for shakes or oatmeal.

Re: Protein powde v.whatbrand

I'll have to look into the costco brand for next time.

I stopped in at the nutrition place in town on my way home from work today, I couldn't believe their prices, better than every single online Canadian supplement place. 5lb of ON whey was $65, it's $79 everywhere online. $110 for the 10lb. bag which I just bought at BB.com and will end up costing me more after shipping/exchange.

Re: Protein powde v.whatbrand

Stick with Optimum Nutrition, they are serious about quality and test their product. Health Canada has a little known program that licenses natural health products after they pass their testing. It is a good resource to check out(even Americans) when buying supplements.

Here's the info:

Here's the actual test results for ON Whey:

Trutein is amazing, Lewis got me on that train.

lately I've purchased the 10lbs Jugs of SNI from DPS Nutrition for $70 shipped. Cannot go wrong for the price, IMO.

Trutein is pricey.
ON Gold Standard is pricey

-I rock Cellucor COR whey since it always seems to be on sale.
-Muscletech has a new platinum line thats on sale iirc at bb.com
-Labrada is on sale too. Lean pro 8 is delicious. I think it's b2g1 right now
-BPI may still be on sale. Tasty too
