The first #1 International Lancia Delta Meeting St. Moritz 2008 has successful taken place in the scenic Grisons area with Delta owners' travelling from all over Europe to take part in the inaugural international extravaganza. For the Lancia Delta Club Suisse it's the third year in a row that they have organized an event in this region, but the first time it has been held on an international basis.

Already at the kick off of the #1 International Lancia Delta Meeting St. Moritz 2008 which was for dinner on Saturday over 60 Deltisti from all over Europe have joined the table, all in very good humour, so that even the many different languages mixed in during the evening wasn't a problem to anyone. Some of them joined a trip together with the Lancia Delta Club Suisse to Arosa in the afternoon, where they had the chance to drive the hillclimb race course.

The day after, all teams showed up at the meeting point in the "Calanda Bräu" area where the participants had the possibility to register and have an aperitif in the historical horse stable, waiting for departure and in the meantime enjoy some rare creatures like the Lancia Delta S4 Stradale.

On schedule the long Lancia Delta convoy departed for St. Moritz travelling in convoy over Lenzerheide and the impressive St. Julian pass, where even the cloudy weather wasn't able to mask this unique landscape all around.

Arriving at the Engadin Airport in St. Moritz, the members of the Lancia Club Suisse were already awaiting us along with some rare 'old timers' including Fulvias and others. A special surprise was the ex-works Gr.A Delta HF 4WD, formerly of Vittorio Caneva. The grand total was over 135 cars from the HF 4WD to Integrale, to the EVO, in all the many specifications and limited editions.

The long trip over the mountain made it quite easy to enjoy the large buffet which offered something for everyone, with both regional and Italian specialities. After the meal, and once the dessert was digested, there was the time where the Lancia Delta Club Suisse gave away the awards to the teams of each country who travelled the longest distance to Chur which was even more than 1,500 km in one way, just to join this meeting.

The cloudy weather gave the opportunity to all those who wanted to, to enjoy the free runway of the airport in any manner they wanted to. So from drifting to donuts, there has been also enough show for all the spectators watching. In the end all the participants were driving home into a rainbow, which we think is a good omen, next to the positive feedback from all, to reorganise this event next year.

By today's standards, not all that impressive really. 220hp, and kinda porky for it's size, if the memory serves me right. Those cars are more about what they look like, and how they carry that rally winner posture.

Yup, not crazy by todays standard. However the Evo II had a solid bottom end and could hold twice what it came with from the factory..

If I get into 20k from a lotto, hello 25 year Canadian importation laws!!!!!!!

I'm very confused. Every reason that I shouldn't like it is why I like it. D:
