1996-2000 Civic Helms Service Manual PDF NEW SERVER

Alright, if you're here, you're looking for the Helms 96-00 Civic (incl. Si) service manual PDF. The other server was fast and reliable before when some of us got it, but now, it's slower than a snail and is often offline. It's also supposedly hit with a virus... which is all the more reason for people to find a different server for upload. I've offered to upload it on several occasions but no-one volunteered the server space (70mb), so I have a more ghettocious solution that I've used for the EG and DC service manuals about a year ago.
Because I'm limited to 25mb of server space per account and because the service manual is just under 70mb, I had to literally chop up the file to fit onto 3 different server accounts which I've created. It's a little more work than people are probably used to, but it's very simple and it guarantees your safe and reliable downloading of the file.
As for server speed, it depends on the load obviously. I've seen a steady 340-350k/s during offpeak hours however, but this will surely go down when more people begin downloading during the day.
At any rate, here's how to trasfer the service manual from my server space to your computer!
Instructions:
1. Download (Right click, Save as...) each of the 4 files below into the same directory:
- http://aditemp1.home.comcast.net/Helms.001 24MB
- http://aditemp2.home.comcast.net/Helms.002 24MB
- http://aditemp3.home.comcast.net/Helms.003 24MB
- http://aditemp1.home.comcast.net/Helms.bat <1KB
3. Make sure that the filenames were not changed after download. Helms.001 gets changed to Helms.001.bat on some computers.
4. OPTIONAL Delete Helms.bat and Helms.00* files to free up hard drive space.
IMPORTANT: You will need the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (6.0) to view this file. You can download it here:

I hope this works out well and people who've been looking for this service manual finally get it after the frustrating experience with that other server.

i have adobe reader 6.01 but somehow 002 & 003 are not recognized as "pdf" file and 001 is a "unrepairable" pdf file.

The files are pieces of a bigger file. In order to read the PDF, the 001, 002, and 003 files need to be "consolidated." This is done by running the batch (*.bat) file.

Through a PM session, Leon and I found that on some systems, Helms.001 is automatically renamed to Helms.001.pdf after downloading. So please make sure that the filenames are on par before executing the batch file.

I am having a similar unrepairable program problem when I try to run helms in adobe. I just updated adobe and all the file names are correct and i ran the batch file before trying to open helms.pdf, still doesn't work for me. any ideas?

Well, there's no helms.pdf until after you run the batch file. On some computer, for no known reason, the Helms.001 file is automatically renamed to Helms.001.pdf or something.
So if you have all 3 files in the same directory + the batch, make sure that the first three files are named as follows
Helms.001
Helms.002
Helms.003
I just re-downloaded making sure that the file didn't get corrupt on the server, and everything's OK. Hope this helps.

72,765,621 bytes (or 72,766,464 bytes on dick) for the final and assembled PDF.
Download each file (tot of 4 incl batch), make sure that the names are as described above, run the batch file and it will work.

The .bat runs fine and creates the .pdf (I, too, had the problem at first with *001 being renamed to *001.pdf) but then my Acrobat viewer can't open it. I've deleted it and tried again several times.

Go to My Computer or Windows Explorer, click Tools in the menu bar, select Folder Options; then go to the View tab, find and uncheck "hide file extentions for known filetypes."
