I'm planning a run this summer that involves some ridiculous scenery And I'm toying around with the idea of buying a small, light and hopefully cheap camera that can shoot RAW format to tuck into my pack so I can grab some pictures along the way. I know absolutely nothing about compact cameras or what's available so any help is appreciated! The start/finish of the run is stunning so I'll definitely have my DSLR in the car for that |

I can't think of anything other than this... http://www.amazon.com/Sony-NEX-3NL-Compact-Interchangeable-Digital/dp/B00BF9MUBM/ For $299.99 with that lens, it might worth the size difference, which isn't much. |

What size is the bank? I've seen some amazing shots out of the Sony RX100 on ADVRider, and it's smaller size would make it more fun to run with than an interchangable lens camera. |

Yeah, interchangeable lenses are a non starter for my purposes here. This is going to be tucked into my waistband or slipped into a pocket that couldn't hold much more than a pair of iPhones. |

Probably RX100, though it certainly isn't cheap. If that's not what you're looking to spend, Canon S-whatever. |

either of these is what i'd suggest. Small, well built, excellent image quality Originally Posted By: tylerdurden Probably RX100, though it certainly isn't cheap. If that's not what you're looking to spend, Canon S-whatever. |

Just picked up an S120, I thought the touch screen would be pure gimmickry, but tap to select focus is pretty sweet, it works during video too. Every camera should do that. I have mine setup to set exposure comp on the front dial and aperture on the rear dial and it's pretty damn good. Handles very well, but these cameras are small enough that I bought a little rubber grip for the front to make it a little chunkier, the Sony really needs one from my short time with one. |

I have a Canon S95... which I love but I sort of want to get the S110 because it's better. |

The canon S110 has been dipping down to $200 on sale lately, but the IQ from the G15 is supposed to be noticeably better and at a $299 sale price that's the way I'd go. Just my .02 though. |

Those G's are a bit of a beast though, not sure I'd want one tucked into my waist for a long run. |

Thanks guys - the Canon S110 sounds and looks like a winner! I'll be sure to get plenty of pictures to share when the time comes |

I'd love to get a G15, but it's just too big. I love my S95 because I can throw it in my pocket and it's not noticeable (like a cell phone). I ran around Oklahoma D-Day (the world's largest paintball event) for 3 years with it in my pocket taking a ton of abuse and it's been wonderful. I'm sure the g15 is better, but it's too big to justify the increase in quality. |

I have a Sony A6000 on preorder and will probably end up with a couple primes before it gets here |

I once chased a shoplifter around a Best Buy store, he had a VHS-C JVC camcorder down his pants. Those were the same size as a D800. It still grosses me out to think that I touched that camcorder after he'd had it down his pants. yuck. |

I just got an RX100 for aerial photography. Works awesome for that! Don't think that'll help anyone else here though. |
