Strike again?

CUPE threatening a strike again. Kids being held hostage by "adults" (on both sides) who pleaded for negotiations in 'good faith'. What a bunch of twats, the lot of them.

Thoughts? Home school seems like a great option.

Re: Strike again?

OPC reduced the education budget over a billion dollars and reducing the quality of education being delivered. Similar to the health care situation right now.

CUPE is fighting to ensure there's job security and adequate staffing to provide services for the kids. OPC refuses to provide that, and that is the key sticking point of the bargaining process right now. This isn't about the wages, because they settled on the wages.

When it's time for the teachers to bargain for their contract, OPC wants to remove the class-room cap size altogether and jam in as many kids in the classroom, upwards to 60 kids per class, etc.

The issue is not necessarily about the job itself, they're actively fighting for the betterment of the education for the kids.

Otherwise, education will go down to the same path as healthcare today.

I stand with CUPE.

Do you remember Mike Harris' days in the 90s where he slashed funding on health care, education and turned 407 into a private toll? Yeah, that's the direction we are heading.
