My old family friend from Tokyo (our auto mechanic since 1984) lives at Pt. Union and Lawrence and I'm going to take him out for dinner when I visit Toronto in the Spring. I haven't lived in Toronto for so long, I don't know what's out there. I don't want him to have to drive all the way across the city or anything. Something reasonable that would be acceptable to an actual Japanese guy out here - anyone know? Thanks! |

I like this place, but you gotta book ahead. And the place is tiny. https://www.google.ca/maps/place/Aoyama+...8!4d-79.3290842 |

Great calls on aoyama and cafe Michi. Both solid and top Japanese food in scarb. Can't go wrong with either one. Both require booking ahead of time. |

If he’s Japanese who’s been living in TO for over 30 years, wouldn’t he know of all the good Japanese restaurants? I would feel strange if someone from out of the city visits me and take me out for Korean food. That’s something what HE should be doing, not you. |

All he does is work all the time. He very rarely eats out. Cool guy though. He used to do pit crew for Aston Martin and Saab racing teams. In Japan. Thanks for all the suggestions! I won't be in TO until April - lots of time to pick one and book |
