Apparently CRA is going after alll of these “flippers” for homes because really it’s hjst a way to avoid taxes

CRA tried to give me a new hole on the house I lived in for the HST on my new build because my address on my taxes did not match my home address. I just never changed it because my old address was my brother's.
They wanted all sorts of documentation and it would have been like $20-30k. They wanted to get us to send them personal mail that isn't an utility bill. WTF gets personal mail.....so lame. Luckily we had a recall notice from the Fiat. LOL That car paid for itself and some.

Credit card / bank statements should work too - even though you get a PDF for those. I believe they have your name and physical address tied to them. so you can just print one off...

Revenue must really be down!
I received a letter from CRA looking for more info regarding my student fees from last year. That's the second time they wanted this. First time was in 2011, my income was practically nil and they still came after me. I guess my age triggers some kind of flag when tuition deductions are included on a return. Must be lots of scams involving students though and low incomes/tuition deductions. I'm legit so I don't care, still a nuisance tho.
