Bought fertilizer from the states - WTF?
|
I bought 2 bags of weed'n'feed, 2 bags of grub ex, 4 jugs of weed b-gone and I declared it when I crossed the border. The CBPO told me next time I bring the fertilizer across, it will be subjected for confiscation and he allowed me to cross.
I thought CBPO can only enforce federal laws and now they are telling me they will confiscate the fertilizer next time I bring into Canada. So, are they now enforcing provincial laws??????

That's pretty much what I said. Until the cbpo said like what? I said gardening accessories. He said like what? Such as? I need to see the invoice. I gave it to him.

You can't buy fertilizer combined with weedkiller, its a federal thing under Health Canada jurisdiction. You can buy them separately though

Choco is correct. Its the combination of whats in weed&feed that makes it not permitted under some Health Canada law.
If I remember from some of my CBSA classes at school, its not necessarily illegal to possess lots of this lawn care stuff, but illegal to sell it.
I always just tell them I was at Walmart or Target.

^lawn is green and good enough, just the weeds need to go but even still I don't have that many this year. everything including shipping came up to $70 for the gallon of concentrate so it should last me maybe this year and two more.

up to exemption limit if you don't want to pay taxes. Just tell them its for personal use and you can bring in a trunk load

This plus Milogranite organic fertilizer. One of the big jugs of Orthro. I use the max version. Some Grub Ex (recommended is on the bag) & grab double the recommended for the Milorganite.

the usa fertilizer spray will make your lawn turn mutant. grass will be green and thick as fuck you'll have to cut it every two days.
