No nest, facebook, instagram etc. Use TOR, VPN etc, no gmail, hotmail etc. Those are all data mined. Use Tails OS too

The worst about the nest camera is that it has a MIC. Since it records for up to 30 days, there's tons of evidence. Even if you're not being filmed directly, your "off-camera" voice can be recorded and sent to the cloud.

The fappening was just hacking hollywood's a-listers iphone cloud accounts and getting their pictures. Just image what would happen if a hacker breaks into the Nest cloud storage of A-Listers, stock brokers etc. Ouch!
