It's pretty fucked up down here, but not too crazy. Although on my drive from the Falls to St. Catharines there was one car behind me and no one ahead of me. Could have stayed home today, everyone is cancelling their appts and my parts drivers called in too.

Edit: Yay Boss just kicked me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...

I've been at the client site since 8am... GO train was fine. Took 5 mins longer as it went thru that new 'Danforth' GO stop, but otherwise right on time ...

Roads were slippery as hell, but were fresh pow... I was one of the first ones to leave in my area (no tire tracks) ... \:\( FML.

Hearing about tons of GO delays, cancellations, etc... Hope I can get home ok/on time... Looks like my driveway's totally covered again, after the 15-20 mins of shovelling I did this AM.

Re: some drive out there

I shovelled before I Went to bed last night and hoping my life wouldn't be hell this morning. Wrong!
Came out around 7:45am to shovel, did a lot but the entire street was not plowed. 3 cars drove by and was stuck (snow was as high as the front bumper). Took a break after 1.5 hour and went inside for breakfast. After breakfast I came back out to do more shovelling. The wagon managed to get stuck on my street, my dad took my mom's Caravan and he was fine. I took my usual route to go to work, took an extra 5 minutes but the highway was empty.

I really miss my STi in snow day like today. \:\(

wellllllllll, until car control schooling becomes a part of license testing, I'm not sure that your observation is actually "amazing" XD

IE: i do not expect my grandma to catch a power induced slide (assuming rwd), module the throttle + countersteer to save her bacon. I fully expect her to panic, abruptly cut any pedal input...or even slam on the brakes with no change in steering angle XD

i went the other way around - had my reasons. 08 sti like euph said is 'softer' than the R, but it's not luxo by any means, yet not as harsh as an evo. comfier yes, roomy+trunk, awd was great, thing handled amazing...almost to the point it stuck to the road so much (road and track for me even) it got boring. cost of maintenance also quite a jump even with discounts i found. winter days like today were awesome to just blast by everyone but those days are limited. you could put more rear bias with the centre diff control and on snowy or cold asphalt days, have the back end kick out just enough to enjoy it more.

faults, gas mileage is nasty (especially for my drive cycle) and it really wanted 94oct, esp on humid summer days. the top mount intercooler sucks balls. shell 91 wouldnt even cut it, would just auto-retard and lean the hell out at higher RPM's. the stock tune suuucks and it's suggested you get at least a basic stage 1 tune done, even without any other mods. the exh note is nice, but i found it annoying after awhile.

the R - well, all around great/fun car. with the recaros it's comfy (except entry/exit LOL), stiffer and handling is SPOT fucking on given my setup. it sticks almost as well as the sti, but given the balance and weight of the chassis...the back end comes out just as easy even tho it's fwd \:D ;\) it has the roominess too given the "trunk". car is much better on gas and is fine on 91. have to worry about theft i guess, but just be safe enough...in a way given it's older i dont "worry" about the the body as much as i need to lol. yeah less trq but nothing you can't still DD...annoying somtimes, but car never ceases to put a smile on your face. \:\) - i mean 9k all day long, DD, track/etc...what else can you ask for. shifts are butter...sti shifter was garbaaaagggee.

I didn't get stuck last winter but the STi would totally stuck in the snow this morning. The snow was literally higher than the front bumper (non-plowed street)
