I recently acquired a 407 transponder and it's registered to my civic. However, I am wondering if I was to carpool or rent a car or steal Rob's Ferrari. Can I still use my transponder to get billed for the trip or will I get dinged with double billing? |

It works in other cars most of the time but they don't suggest it. |

Ditto as per above. If it doesn't register, you will get stuck with the usual fees. If you call them, they may back out the charge but the $$$ isn't worth the time. |

I got double billed years ago and they said I am not suppose to do it. They reverses the bill saying they would do it only that time. |

beware with rental cars... I think 407 has a list of the plates used, and they will charge them, and the rental company will rape you with "admin" fees. |

Back in the day, the package came with the 407 transponder in a tin foil wrapper, similar to a hot dog wrapper... If you're in a situation where your car's going thru 407 but you don't it to trigger, wrap it in tin foil... </CaptainObvious> |
