iphone 6 price

For the smaller 4.7"

US - $200 with contract
Rogers, Virgin, Telus - $265
Bell - $260

iphone 6 plus
US - $300 with contract
Rogers - $375
Bell - $370

My iPhone 5S was $210 when I got it in December which was only $10 more than US price.
Now they are charging $65 more

Re: iphone 6 price

No surprises from Hell and Robbers.

Also FYI if you have the 6gig data plan they force you to get rid of it unless your bill is over 90 a month. I'll just buy it unlocked and sell it when I'm done with it as they hold value.

Re: iphone 6 price

Lol just looked at bell's no term pricing on the 6+ and it ranges from $859 for the 16gig to $1079 for the 128gig.

Was thinking og getting the wife a replacement for her 4s but looks like I will look at the 5s instead of the new hotness. We have a great phone and data plan that I don't want to give up.

No difference same production run. No upcharge justified with the exception of exchange rates / duty

Re: iphone 6 price

If you buy your own device, you should go with Wind Mobile or something and get the $35 unlimited data/call to sweeten the deal.

Saving $25 a month equals to $600 per 2 years. Plus they give you $150 credit if you bring your own phone. = $750 save.
So, it's like getting an unlocked iPhone for free every 2 years.

Garbage. Wind data is painfully slow. (source - my dad is with Wind). That's why its hard for me to give up my 6gb plan with bell. My data plan w LTE is much faster than my home internet.

To the OP - I dont know why they are charging more today. At first I thought it had to do with the exchange rate when you bought the phone in Dec 2013 but in Dec 2013, the dollar was ~.94 to .93 at the time.

http://www.freecurrencyrates.com/exchange-rate-history/CAD-USD/2013

Today it's ~.90 now. I guess the lack of competition in the cellular business in Canada gives them the reason to charge whatever the fuck they want to?

There are a lot of those but I use my phone to do 99% of all my online stuff. A bigger screen and more speed and capacity would be great and I love the iPhones polished interface/ecosystem

I have a 5 right now though not a 5s

its not just apple, its the carriers asking for that price and jacking it up a bit, its easier to make less per unit when you have a market 11 times the size........... I never took economics, but I think its pretty straight forward.

exactly.. so no point in complaining about it IMO. Move to the states if you want to pay cheaper prices.

Re: iphone 6 price

I've heard anecdotal stories about how much Wind sucks, but it's 'ok' if you're downtown, and it's even more 'ok' when you look at your monthly bill... Do they even have LTE support yet?

Rogers/Fido need to fucking up their game around Union and the GO corridors... Zero fucking coverage. (Coverage goes perfect @ the 100m dash starting line.)

Someone also needs to set up infrastruture within the subway lines... </peasant>

its the fucking truth, people are just too fucking stupid to look at the bigger picture and think about the entire system, rather than their own little worlds.

Terrible (I ported out by Feb 2013). I paid $35/month for unlimited call, SMS, data with Wind but there was no reception where I live. All calls went straight to VM and the data was slow (33.6 modem slow).

I am happy with Bell LTE and can't go back down to anything less than LTE.
