Pros, cons, etc, from real world, daily driving experiences since you have had it. My test drive of an FRS 2 years ago left me unimpressed. However, a recent drive of a 15 BRZ Limited may have changed my initial impressions. |

My old man has one. Drove it for a week. Love the seats, not a fan of stereo. Engine is ok power wise. Ride is stiff, you feel every bump. Overall nice car, but I couldn't wait to drive my 2013 accord after it. Auto and smooth ride > manual tranny and stiff ride |

^ sign of old age. what's the difference between a regular FRS and the BRZ Limited? (too lazy to google it) |

Nicer interior and more options, not as stiff of a ride. The FRS I drove, the front seats didnt even match the back, Radio Shack'ish stereo, interior was desigend by RubberMaid. The BRZ was 10 times nicer inside and didnt feel as cheap. The ride was also less harsh. |

I was also unimpressed. Really wanted to like it |

what's up? I picked the BRZ over the FRS because of the better stuff you get with the BRZ, which more than made up the price diff. Pros: The Feels (both handling and the interior materials feels/shifter). Good on gas if you want it to be. Can run 16" steelies for winter. Cons: Small Trunk. Crappy stock reverse light. General lack of storage space in the interior. lack of sunroof? Windows will often freeze in winter and need to be reset so it'll work again (which isn't that bad, but just annoying). |

i drive my FRS with 2 kids in it a couple times a week. Leg room ain't great for them, but it's fine for me! And i just found out last week, my 8 year old will fit in the trunk, so I could potentially have one more kid and STILL drive this car. score! i ended up with the FRS cause, while the stuff the BRZ had was worth the price difference, i don't like leather and i prefered the colour choices the FRS had. the stock FRS radio looked like shit, and I wouldn't mind having it cause I just don't care, but i ended up with the upgrade touch screen radio which looks a lot less ghetto. the placement of everything in the cockpit is very intuitive, even more so than the miata's i've owned before. i don't have to take my eyes off the road to adjust the HVAC. Motor ain't great, but it's good enough. feelz is there; just turn off the traction control and that back end will kick out on the slightest nudge. it's certainly not a car of creature comforts. personally, i have very little need for creature comforts when i'm driving. a seat, a wheel, a stick and i'm good. |

that touch screen radio sucks donkey dick. I liked the steering and damping. shifter was up there. Not quite sti good(for a suby comparo) but close. clutch pedal was terrible. worst part about the car imo. and dbw was okish. overall I just found the engine to be boring. although it would shellac my dx. I found the dx more punchy around town with the cable throttle. and I found the car needed way more than a "slight nudge" to get the back end to do anything. you had to flog the hell out of it. ..which is the point, no? I tried to go in with low expectations. Maybe I failed at that. After driving it didnt illicit that "I must buy this now" feeling. Its a good car and Im glad it exists. |

with some more k's on my tires, its quite easy to rotate it if i want it to. |
The touch screen is not state of the art but it's definitely much easier to look at than the stock unit. I drove a DX for years. It's certainly a lot better than that. As for kicking the back out, you sure you had traction completely off? Really doesn't take me much to turn the tail around. |
also drove it, same comments as above. not a bad car, but nothing craycray by any means. i'd take my R over it any day of the week for every aspect (driving pleasure, feelz, room, maybe a touch less comfy but with the recaros im fine DD) and dem revs. plus i see like 2-5 of them a day... |
of course its better than a dx. The tip in on the brz was better than most, but not quite cable throttle. But after that it just felt flat to me. I will give it another go but initial impressions didnt blow my skirt up. I really loathed that radio/touch screen. |

FRS has quite a bit more off throttle rotation than the BRZ does. FRS is also more eager to accept mid corner throttle applications to change the line. I'm with 4three--FRS interior is not that bad, and I'd take the FRS cloth/whatever it is over the leather in the BRZ XD The only thing I don't like is the random red patches on the seats. I wrote a review on the FRS maybe 1 year ago on here. I was impressed with how it drove, but didn't like the motor. For the money, if you're after the driving experience, I don't know what is any better. Though if you are wanting a more balanced street car for the money, there are better choices. Arguably, the Si, Focus/Fiesta ST, and for a few bucks more over a BRZ limited you can get yourself a WRX. All of these cars are more capable and more practical. Though not as engaging. |

Thanks for the replies. I'm just doing some test driving/research for my next car. Wife and I are both all over the map too. I'm going to look at the Mustang when they come out, wife likes the Audi 3/4/5, I like the new Lexus IS and the Accord Coupe. |

If you need any Audi help, i.e. equipment or pricing or programs, feel free to get in touch. |

I still like the Genny, so Im just looking around now. The "new" Genesis should have some more info leaking out. So far, its rumoured to be moving upmarket. Ditching the 4-banger and possibly getting a turbo V6 or N/A V8. The new Genesis Sedan is real nice, so Id hope the Coupe would be even better. That being said, something smaller and more compact like a BRZ would be nice. An Audi or IS much more luxurious. Wife also might be getting a job in TO, so who knows how that will change things. The 86 vs Genesis threads are always lulz. The 86 owners are probably the biggest bunch of douchy fanboys Ive ever seen. even worse then the Honda-Tech ones. Lots of Genny owners like the 86, but just think its simply too slow in comparison. Me, I like both so I dont care what they all think. |
