I had 30% discount on my cable, but it expired in January. I called today to get my discount back (just noticed the bill), and they wouldn't, so I cancelled it.

Have to wait for the winback call, Rogers retentions is useless now. Oh and Vas, don't use stream netflix HD, what about torrents? What about working from home. Its not 2000 anymore dude, there is a need for highspeed internet access.

If they let me go there is no winning me back this time. I caved last yr during a winback call but not this yr. If I don't get something more stable in terms of price long term this yr I'm gone. 50% or not I'd rather go to tecksavvy and be done with rogers internet once and for all.

Do you say you are canceling in a couple of months and hope they call back before then?
Or cancel it and have no internet/TV for a while until they call back?

Anyone get the new Rogers Hitron CGN3 router/modem? I got it last night, I've had to reboot it probably 4 times already.. And this is when it's in gateway mode (ie not doing anything!).. Fucking god damn piece of shit. Didn't have this problem with the old Cisco DPC3825 gateway I just returned.

i had to disable the wifi and now it's stable. you might need to do the same.

Had the same problem. The firmware will update within 48 hours and it will be stable after that. I had to call the fuckers to do it in one day.

Well it's frozen twice, what a fucking piece of shit. However, the nice thing is that Rogers will allow me to use my Motorola Surfboard SB6141 Taking back the Hitron tomorrow!

What kind of speed do you get with that?

Tech guy told me as long as it's on the approved list, it's not a problem. Lucky for me it was. I've gotta go into the store today to get the MAC/Serial scanned in because there's a character limit in their DB which won't allow fulfillment type it in over the phone

So apparently the tech guy I talked to was on crack, people at the Rogers store had no idea what the fuck was going on.. I'm on Hitron router #2, if this bullshit continues, I'm switching over to Teksavvy.

Yea I hear ya. But at 99$ you just have to use it for 10 months to pay it off.

^^ Yeah, I had 50% off internet and 30% off cable, best I could negotiate with winback was 30% off both with free modem rental, and a free nextbox pvr.

Some people have still been getting 50% off internet, but I had it for the last two years, so I suspect they were hesitant to offer it again to me.

How does the "winback" work?
Do you notify them a month ish before?
Or cancel it and not have the service until they call you?
