nate, on the end of your camera, what kind of polarizer set up is that?
Ty that is a Lee 4-inch circular polarizing filter. I like to use that style of filter because you can stack them without having a vignette that you get more often with a threaded on round filter. Since it's larger you can use wide angles without having the edge of your filter show up in your images, especially when I add a ND grad filter on as well.

I don't own a D800. I have used them extensively, and done retouching jobs for other guys that were shot with them, so I feel I'm qualified to comment on the system, and for the record if I were to start from scratch I would go with Nikon. At the moment. Who knows what Canon has in the pipeline... Hopefully something amazing, and hopefully it will be out very soon.
