I don't know anything about this anymore, hoping someone (Choco?) can maybe help do some justice to my home theatre.

Can the PS4 stream torrented movies/shows stored on a NAS? I did a quick google search and there seems to be 2 methods, Plex and Sony's new Media Player app... which one should I use?

What's a good NAS for windows/mac? Can I use my time capsule (wireless-ac) or should I get something better?

HTPC build - i5 or i7? 8gb or 16gb? how many watts psu? looking to just run slideshow/surveillance software (firefox browser)

This stuff will be lightly used but I only have a PS4 (with 1 game) hooked up to my 110" SI Black Diamond. I've never used my home theatre yet so there's no need to set something up but with the holidays coming up, it seems like I should.

Plex is probably a good idea.

I use Kodi all over the place. I have it on my Cellphone, Raspberry Pi, PC, MAC. I also use a HDHOMERUN to stream live over the air HD to Kodi. The main storage is a 4TB NAS WD Mycloud.

Not sure about using a PS4, but if you want a nice project, get a $45 Raspberry Pi, or, if you can find one, the new Pi zero for $10. Install OpenElec and you're on your way.

Just a suggestion.

Plex, but since you went all out with a 100" screen, why stream? Thats compressed and you lose some fidelity. UHD BD are out in 2016

For HD PC thats super quiet, why not mac mini?

PS4 removed DNLA capabilites, such a stupid move by Sony. One reason why I will never get rid of my PS3.
