We have invited my daughters classmates to her upcoming birthday party. As parents are RSVP, there have been some that say they are coming along with their sibling. W T F

How would you guys handle this? I'm planning on telling them that due to limited space it can only be classmates. Best part is that we out *no gifts please*. So you mooching mofo is going to bring an extra kid at my expense... fuck off!!!

If it's at a kiddie location (ie. indoor playground), then just mention you only paid for x amount of kids, and that they would have to pay for the extra kid on their own.

Yup it's at an indoor playground. We rented the whole thing, so we can actually have a lot of ppl. But it's the principle for me. This one particular parent didn't even ask to see if it was ok to bring her other kid as well. Just said that she's bringing both. At least ask first.

My plan is too just be direct and tell her no, it's only for classmates. If she doesn't like that, too bad lol

Nice thing about an indoor playground, is that the entire thing turns into a shit show headcount wise. 9/10, the staff doesn't give two shits if your over by like 5 kids or so.

I totally agree if they were twins. Finding out how old this sibling is. Room isn't an issue at the indoor playground since we booked the whole thing. It's just a matter of asking and not just assuming it's ok to bring all your kids.

The mom has to get a sitter for the sibling if they are not allowed to come. If you are not paying for extra couple of kids, I don't see a big deal.

and what kind of mom wants to send one away while the other one is having fun?
First it's not fair, second it can cause a drama when one kid talks about the party that the other couldn't go.

Was about to say what's the big deal until I read the bold part.

It is sort of a dick move to just bring w/o asking first. Hmmm if you're not paying per head and it's a fixed price, I'd say just let it go.

Yeah that makes so much sense. Going to a kids birthday that you don't even know? Besides you missed the entire point of my rant.

It's petty, but I just don't like how ppl can be so inconsiderate. What if there is space constraints? I bet you it's a big6.

lol - that was my next question.

for one of the parties (we did the bowling thing) - my daughter invited her good friend; the mom asked if we can include her other daughter (the younger sister) and offered to pay since she didn't want to drive back and forth (pick up & drop off) nor wanted to just have her other daughter watch from the side and not get to play.

but yeah, she asked - mind you, we would've offered anyways because they were good friends

Easy solution...don't hold parties for an entire class. \:D

We've never had a birthday party for the kids' friends. They've been family and/or our friends only. Now that my older one is 7, he's starting to ask about inviting his friends. We will have to let him next year, but it won't be the whole class.

In those situations I wouldn't mind at all with an approach like that.

We didn't do the whole class - we asked her to pick 5-6 friends (we got cousins' kids to fill the rest) -- same deal w/ the last birthday; just invite 4-5 friends that we know she hangs out w/ day in and day out to come over for pizza and do video games (or whatever the F they want to do).

Gets easier when they get older. Don't want to invest time to plan / think about themed party and shit ... venues are quite expensive.

How much cheapo pizza and cake can another kid eat? Dont see the big big deal really.

Get yourself a bottle of single malt and let the kids have at it.

I don't see the issue, sure they said they are bringing them instead of asking so yea poor mannerisms (do tell the race of course) ;\) but again being devil's advocate, it would be a PITA to then make alternate arrangements for the second kid/explain why they weren't invited, etc so stop being a tight ass

This is some participation ribbon type shit. It's called having your own friends.. Shit, I'm glad I didn't have to share friends with my sibling.

nah i see your point, it's a dick move to just bring another kid without asking. Are you going to bitch about another kid tagging along to your kid's bday party? nah.

my daughter's last bday was at chuckie cheese, cost about $400 or $500 and that was food for the adults too, even got the guys a beer each. had a butt ton of kids there including cousins kids so i didn't want to invite the entire damn class. what i did say was that "it's a princess party....so i only invited the girls". boom half the class gone.

at the same time, people are going too ape shit with these kids birthdays. fucking $200 cakes and shit, that $20 longos slab cake did just fine; inviting 1/2 of toronto. $500/year isn't bad for me, but i'm not giving my kid a big bday party every damn year to keep her in check. i said that one year is a party at chuckie cheese or wherever, next year is a party at home with all the cousins and family and she was cool with that (she better be)

anyways, having a movie theater party for my kid in march, holla if any csi kids want to come.

What happened? Not going to be a dick about it. This was more of a rant.

Titty, we don't plan to throw big parties every year as well. We just happen to have enough room to invite a shitload of ppl.

what in the utter fuck

tell that other whiny bitch of a kid to suck it up. birthday kid/parents are the ones hosting, they can invite or exclude who they want. we don't have any right to impose ourselves on them or assess their reasons. if it's too much of a hassle to just bring one kid, don't bring either; just decline.

at least have the decency to ask. if you get invited to a wedding and it doesn't say you plus one, you're going out on a limb if you bring a date.

i've had parties for my kids and when the parents drop off their kid, i see the sibling, i'll invite them to stay. but never should it be assumed on their part.

I thought Spark was a robot from the old movie and I kind of remember seeing him telling some engineer showing the equation for a clear metal that the guy would event years later - porschetr
