So, just say your realtor tells you they're thinking your house should be listed at $590,000... do you drop it to $590,888, or $588,888? Think this would change anything come offer time?


Oh, and after all this thought, house across the street goes up for $579,888 this morning lol

I hate all the news articles, signs, ads etc etc that state "sold for xxx over asking!!" No it didn't. It sold for market value. Just because you underpriced it by $100k so you can stroke your ego, it doesn't mean that it sold for over asking. Sure there are some exceptions but 95% sell for market value.

West is too $$$, so is brooklin right now. Should have purchased in brooklin 6 or 7 years ago when looking lol. No clue where, yet. We want land, and neighbours to be as far as possible. I'll do an hour to work, those are my borders.

From what I know:

1 - 8's in the price or address are lucky and Chinese buyers will pay extra to get it! Finishing in 8 is good, 88 is better, 888 is great! Not to sure with 8888 but I'd assume that's like hitting the jackpot
2 - 4's are bad, but only at the end of a number or on their own. Some recent Condos don't even have a 4th, 14th, 24th or 34th floor. Some detached homes in Markham have applied to the city to change their house numbers to make them more appealing to Asians.
3 - Asians are incredibly superstitious! The number of good luck/bad luck things and Feng shui is insane. And they will pay insane amounts of money to get the best "good luck" houses there are.

Given there the ones winning bidding wars these days, I'd defintely put 8s all over my selling price.
